The elements are tainted...

Main Deck (60 cards)

Sideboard (15 cards)

Sorceries (4)

Instants (4)

Submit a list of cards below to bulk import them all into your sideboard. Post one card per line using a format like "4x Birds of Paradise" or "1 Blaze", you can even enter just the card name by itself like "Wrath of God" for single cards.

Deck Description

**Every good card has flavor text, so why not a deck?**

The elemental flames cheered as their brethren returned from the Rakdo's guild gate. Their finest warriors, coming home from a battle against true evil itself. However, the army's souls did not burn bright with pride. Black smoke and ash filled as dark souls slaughtered the soul felt flames. Hideous laughter echoed throughout the dark past of fire.

How to Play

This deck has something that elementals do better than anything else in the game:
Early game mana ramp. On average you should have four mana by turn two or three mana by turn one, which is more than enough to play most creatures in the deck, considering the most expensive is Ashenmoor liege.

The deck builds off itself and beats down on any opponent. I've always loved evil decks, and elementals...I think ive found the perfect combination ;D ^-^

IMPORTANT:
Before considering additions to the deck, realise that the power and beauty of the deck is the constant red/black mana options with every card. This fuels the deck and give's it most of its power.

**SIDE BOARD**
If the opponent is running a life gain deck, run stigma lasher.
If they are running a very instant or one card wonder heavy deck, run dash hopes.
If they have planeswalkers or just one annoying ass creature, run dreadbore :D
Gray merchant for multiplayer.

I love the elementals, my first and favorite deck I made was built off of elemental and burn cards. I would recommend maybe smokebraider, it taps for 2 mana for elemental cards so it furthers mana ramp.

I really love that card.. this deck rarely ever needs to get to endgame, but pump out creatures, and if your lucky youll get a couple of darkrituals and manaforges, that card is an instant endgame :D
any advice??

well madcap skills is pretty boss. especially if you get it turn 2 after you played a dark ritual to get out gouger or avatar of discord. lightning talons is awesome too. side deck a rakdos, the demon guy. or a master of cruelties.

also, not to sure about avatar of discord. I dont really have anything that i'd want discarded, so if you have any replacements I'd be thankful :p

This is an absolutely amazing deck!! the only thing that I can even think of to alter this deck would probably to switch Fists of the Demigod into the sideboard and put Dreadbore into the main deck for some cheap removal

fists of the demigod has always been a winner for me, but i do agree that i wish i had some space for dread bore :/

Terminate > Dreadbore for Mainboard, in my own opinion. If your opponents Planeswalkers get out of control first game, then turn it into Dreadbore.

You asked my for some input: culling the weak maybe instead of infernal plunge if you can get them 4 red/black lands like Blood Crypt or Badlands (if your can afford or can poxy), 4 terminate in sideboard, personally I also like graveyard hate in side board like relic of progenitus

the mana would be too slow.. My mana ramp comes from creatures and instants (:

I like how many low drops you have in this deck. If I were to fight this, I would definitely have to bring out an aggro or fast mover myself in order to keep up. My only recommendation for the deck would be the shock lands or maybe other dual lands. I know you have like all but two of your cards in the deck black or red mana cost, but if you're really hurting for a black then the dual land could help you. You never know. Some other multicoloured spells could also help out the deck, especially Torrent of Souls. Get a creature back and do a bit of damage at the same time. Should be some good clean fun.
I know you're going for quick and elementals, but Defiler of Souls could be a lot of fun in this deck. He could limit the use of creatures your opponents have or pull out.
My last suggestion would be Kulrath Knight and Everlasting Torment. Those two in unison should spell out game for you.
But in the end, it is your deck. Do as you please.

I was trying to avoid the whither aspect this deck could offer, but defiler of souls is definitly something i was considering (:

Totally forgot you're basically using a Tribal Elemental deck. You could throw in Door of Destinies if you truly wanted to.

from what I see, this deck needs a little work. your land base needs to be about 21 to ensure that you have the 3 or 4 you need turn 4 or 5 to pump out your win conditions and let them swing. you currently have 6 ramp spells, but they wont be very reliable over time and are dead draws after the early game. 6 dead draws is actually a pretty bad situation. on top of that, infernal plunge makes you sac a creature, so its use early game is further limited, making it a possible dead draw early game as well. you are better off running 21 lands and 4 dark rituals to pound out the win condition early.

you are mainboarding no removal, which is not a good thing considering the colors you are running. lightning bolt and terminate would help you tremendously. I agree with siding 4 dreadbores to deal with planeswalkers. this deck relies on mid ranged to small creatures to swarm quickly, and to make sure that happens, you need removal to deal with opponents creatures. I would run 4 lightning bolts and 4 terminates mainboard.

din of the fireherd is a bad choice for a late game win condition. even with the ramp spells, its just a brick sitting in your hand until you draw what you need. even with 21 lands and a ramp spell or two, I doubt you will be able to play it until turn 10-15, by which time the opponent should be able to deal with it.

your creature choices need a little work as well. avatar of discord is an absolute drain on this deck. even if you get it out early with a ramp spell, even turn 1, you have to nuke your hand to do it, so if opponent has any answer, you will lose.

emberstrike duo is a weak choice. its benefit isn't anywhere near its weakness. best case, its a 2/2 with first strike for 2 mana. same thing for managorge cinder. not really any benefit besides the split cost. I would check out the 1 drop 2/2 options to speed this deck up tremendously.

Agreed.. It's a cool deck, but with a little more work it could be awesome...

mana forge cinder is meant for mana ramp because the second you use her ability you get three mana which is the magic number for most cards. Everytime ive play tested this deck, din has been an efficient turn 5-6 game ender, and this deck shouldnt take any longer than that to finish the opponent off. Although i do agree about avatar of discord, thus why i removed him, and i agree with ember strike, but ember strike is so fun I could never bring myself to take him out ^_^
he's like that little kid on the football team that you know isnt as good as another, but you keep him on there because you hope one day he will be :D

manaforge cinder doesn't ramp mana. you only get a red or a black, and you have to pay 1 colorless. so all it does is change the color of mana you have.

0

madcap skills works great with hellhole flailer. First you can unleash the flailer and attach madcap skills to it and swing for 7. then next turn swing again for 7 and sac for 7 direct. If all of that lands, its lethal in two turns.

I dig it. Alls i would say is I would work those dreadbores and or dash hopes in there permanently. Replace the mana forge cinders maybe. You don't need filtering when 90% of your spells are hybrid colors. And removal and counters are always helpful.
Either way, nice deck. Looks like a lot of fun!

You should try spike jester instead of rakdos shread freak. The jester is a 3/1 haste and the freak is only a 2/1 haster

0
Posted 10 January 2014 at 00:21

but shread freak can be of any mana and with certain abilities of other creatures him being both 2b and 2r worth of devotion can really end the game (:

I really like this deck and made a similar one myself. However I just found out grey merchant doesn't work very well in this deck. Read the oracle text on gatherer.com. It says hybrid mana doesn't count towards its ability. Hybrid mana is dual color ie black and red. So you might want to take him out of side board. I reluctantly took him out of mine. (he would have been awesome in my multiplayer games :(

0

haha i know that! (: he's still amazing because alot of these creatures will still have the devotoin to a single color, just not both :D

How about Rakdos, Lord of Riots ? Cheap and powerful.

0
Posted 05 February 2014 at 18:51

im not sure this deck eneds any more mana ramp tbh, and this deck doesnt do too much early cheap burn for it to be an effective addition(:

0
Posted 06 February 2014 at 00:19

But your attacking every turn and Lord of riots doesn't say how the life has to be lost remember all decreases in life is life lost so rakdos would still be a valuable addition in that aspect he's not just another ender but one hell of a blocker when you play him. Burning has nothing to do with playing him especially in a build like this. and if you have 4 mana turn three like i believe i saw above that's a 6/6 Flying trample on turn three hitting play likely killing on three.

1
Posted 06 February 2014 at 09:44

deathgodkira know's what's up ! ;)

It's a cheap high damage creature that synergies well with burn yes, but isn't only meant for burn. He would suit very well in the deck for the exact reason that deathgodkira said. I ran him in my Grixis beatdown and when he came out on turn 3 or 4 it was good game.

0
Posted 06 February 2014 at 15:45

Its actually an "improved" bloodthirst in the wording. As bloodthirst was strict damage rakdos is life lost and any source that reducea life works making it an amazing four caster!
