Counterspell would work better than Mana Leak
And Milo's right. Needs to be faster

I dunno. I think 2 Spellskites and a SoBoM or Norn's Annex would playout better. The reason I'm sticking with the Annex is, yes it is defensive, but also stops a lot of these new werewolf, zombie, and vampire deck in their tracks. I dunno, it cripples a lot of decks when I play it. And for my previous comment, I'd drop a stalker or two for a Mikaeus and/or a Ludevic's Test Subject. With all the cards in this deck, Ludevic's Test Subject is a scary ass card. As for those Bladeholds, drop 2 Timely Reinforcements or 1 Timely and an Elite Inquistor. My last piece of advice would be to drop a Mana Leak, or two if you feel lucky, for Trepanation Blade. That thing is nasty when I play, esp if I have two on one creature. That's all I got for now. I'm definately gonna build this deck if you don't mind. I've been plaing since Alara but of all the decks, This one is by far one of the bests.

This ain't my deck but it's a red black variant. Look at it, figure out how it runs, change the red for blue, ASSIMILAAAAAAAAAATE, go nuts, throw a party and win. It works for me. This is the best advice on this I can provide on this combo that isn't legacy. Sorry bro, but at least I gave ya a spring board.

Quite frankly this deck is extremely well made, so much that I would gladly play it in standard, as I hate standard usually. I have a few suggestions though. The first is anti control decks which is Quicksilver Amulet, so you can spit out at least one creature per turn. Another, and this slows down red decks too, esp with Swiftfoot Boots or something of the like, is Spellskite, which can dissolve counterspells into thin air ^___^. The last two are Mikaeus, the Lunarch, who's amazing whenever you have at least 5 mana, and Norn's Annex. The Annex literally never ceases to make me laugh at token or creature ramp deck.
"I'll Zerg Rush you with all my creatures!"
"Alright, pay X white, or 2X life."
"B-b-but I'm running mono(black or green usually)..."
"Then too bad"
*opponent table flips*
Insert troll face here
But yeah that's all I have to say. If you ever wanna make this deck legacy, shoot me a notification and I'll jump on it so fast, your head will spin ^_____^

Taunting Elf, followed closely by Guile. Why? Because these two cards screw me over every time my friend uses them in his green elf deck and blue white control deck respectively. btw here's a great combo which i can't seem to beat using these cards. blue white control: guile=free counters which is a big problem for anyone. elf deck:Nissa Revane= all your elves meaning a shit ton of elves w/ +1/+1 abilities, taunting elf, and 4 heedless ones=uber damage or taunting elf equipped with pattern of rebirth, that sucks too.
But yeah, Taunting Elf
