One of the best things about Onslaught was the way it pushed tribal like a girl scout with a quota. Elves, Goblins, Zombies, Soldiers, Beasts, and even *shudder* Clerics. These are just a few examples of the many badass tribes that the Onslaught block brought together to bash each other. However, with the Elves being so haughty and having so many damn iterations and the Goblins chewing on their feet again, it falls to the Zombie hordes to rule the lands with a squishy fist. So let loose the horde, open the floodgates (pick your own bloody metaphor), and unleash the smelly legions to kill, eat, and just all around gross your opponent the hell out.
So the idea here is to get as much out as you can in a short time. A starting hand with at least 1 coffer and 3 lands is ideal, however unlikely. Theres enough low cost critters to snap up a quick defense, and then get the artifacts and bigger guys out to bring the pain. Theres a few different mechanics at work, such as Noxious clearing the creature field, Polluter for draw and life loss, and Endless Ranks bringing the tokens to bear for a nasty Door of Destinies/Cryptic Gateway bonus. All in all, even after 13 years, Zombies are still just as versatile as ever.
