Deck Description

The deck started off as one of the basic 2013 commander decks, and through lots of playing against a limited pool of opponents this is what it turned into. This is my first and still my favorite EDH deck. The monster that was usually on the other side of the table from me was running at one point 11 forms of board wipes, 11! Since then he has reduced that number to 7. So instead of being a reasonable person and cranking the deck full of counter-spells to stop that nonsense, I just made it easier to repeatedly flood the field.

So my buddy is not going to be making an account here, so he asked me to post his deck for him. So to see the recipe for the monster here's the link:

How to Play

So I ended up finding out that I really liked the whole premise of constantly dropping creatures and giving minimal regard to what is actually in my hand if I can just blitz cards out of the top of my library.

The main thing, as you can probably tell from my land ratio, is that the deck NEEDS its tiny little general that could. Animar is the engine in this deck that pulls all the other lazy creatures out way before they're ready (and hopefully before the opponent is too).

The creatures in the deck are designed to either fill a utility need, or to be a problem that your opponent has to solve.

Oh, it looks like we got a brand new account here on Vault! Welcome to the community!
I'm NorthernWarlord, and I'm kinda the master of budget decks around here...
Someone has to create those too, right?
I hope you enjoy your stay.

By the way, pretty great EDH you got there! Animar is one beefy commander.
Good work, good work. Worth of +1 like.

I love this deck. Have you considered Bioshift? It's a pretty good card for the 1 hybrid of blue or green mana it requires.
