Sideboard (15 cards)

Instants (3)

Deck Description

Please I would love to have input on this deck. The only thing I ask is that the cards be in

magic 2011
zendikar
worldwake
rise of the eldrazi

so they don't go out of standard quickly.

its costs $86.40

try not to make it outrageously expensive. :)

Deck discussion for Standard Vamps

I really like the mana curve. It looks like it could deal with most decks.

looks good...could sideboard hexmage to deal with a planeswalker-dependent deck

This deck is missing Gatekeeper of Malakir, Malakir Bloodwitch and Bloodghast, all of which would do well to be included here. Feast of blood is barely decent, its situational and sucks after a board sweep.

Those cards are great, but they're some of the more expensive ones. This deck is a good way to start off on the less-expensive side of vampires, and then start adding some of the ones you mentioned.

those cards are, as WD40 just too expensive. They are all good cards, but would've give this deck the bang for your buck that it has now.

I would like to add that Blood-witch is only 5 casting cost. If you add just one, it WILL win some matches for you. I know every one thinks about quick matches now, but a late game stalemate? The life total swap from it will almost always turn the tide of battle except against a deck that is just prepared for that style of battle. If you come upon that, well, then you aren't really in a position to negotiate anyway, haha

I say this to everyone, but if you want to add a lot of speed to your deck, you should consider using Sign In Blood. Its one of my favorite cards and is invaluble in my black decks.

side board some smothers incase u play a black deck

It seems like its a pretty resonable price and:

-Vamps are black so they are harder to remove from play
-Looks fast with a lot of way to clear your opponent of creatures
-might have some problems with a burn or counter deck, but as I said its fast so it could still win.

I agree with WD40 that sign in blood would work pretty well.

Didn't see anywhere it said was budget, those cards would definately give the deck a major power bump. I will also cosign on the sign in bloods

only problem is that this is only good against a creature heavy deck and not all decks are creature heavy rdw could pretty much take everything out with a pyroclasm, and enchantment decks would destroy this, probably the same with counter decks, pulse trackers are great one cost vamps

i think guul draz assassin is too slow to level, to get them to level 2 its 5 mana so i'd consider them like a 3 or 5 drop, ie play for 1 and level once or twice immediately. i don't like have 4 of the same legendary creature in a deck, but if you feel like anowan is that crucial i guess leave him in, i would say trade one or two for bloodwitch. also i don't like having doomblade mainboard but sideboard it is great.

Four Anowon seems a little excessive without blade of the bloodchief. I also would put the doom blade in the side board and add a feast of blood and two Malakir Bloodwitch's. Gatekeeper of Malakir is another good sideboard card when facing a heavy creature based deck. A lot of decks right now are little to no creatures and just a big frickin combo. You just have too much removal in the main deck.

How is $86 dollars budget?!
Anyway i think with the amount of creature control and speed this deck has it'd do just fine, although Bloodghast would be a very good addition.

haha $86 is a large budget. Its more of that I do not want to make it a 300 dollar deck, I want it to have bang for its buck. It might be an $86 deck, but it would be able to beat those 300 dollar blue white control decks with 2 jace, the mind sculptors :)

First off, $86 bucks is chump change if you have a job & a nice one at that. I've dropped a couple hundred bucks in Magic cards a couple times a month personally, not a big deal; you just have to be willing to bust your ass off. ;P

& Second, this deck is pretty nice. Straight to the point & would work really well. I'm not really a standard player, but I like this one. Good deck construction boss, I give ya' 9 Stars on this guy!

I have a cRaZy 90-Card Vamp deck, Exodus, that alot of people seem to like. It f'n owns too & very quickly, maybe review & rate it as well? Not standard mind you, but still a nice deck to play with.

Feedback is much appreciated.

i dont know why everyone is making a big deal on the price of the deck... $86 isn't that much when it comes to magic any GOOD deck is gonna run ya $100-200 easy unless its red deck.... but you dont have to go over board like sTr8-jAcKet and be rude to everyone sorry everyone doesnt have a job that plays magic, and i do but i dont have a few hundred every moth to drop on it i have bills and other stuff to pay for unlike you who prolly sits in his parents basement and give them alil money for chips and internet... people of all ages and all backgrounds play magic and thats AWESOME but A-holes like you who think their better then everyone else just cause they have no life outside magic so that have to run their mouth and pick on everyone else....

ANYWAY... sweet deck deff agree gatekeeper, and bloodghast need to be in there and hex sideboard for sure but great to see people keepin vamps alive and making decks of all price ranges for everyone...

this deck needs 3 tendrills, 4 sign in bloods. u could also use crystal ball, and an elixir of immortality. 4 Captivating Vampires sense this deck is running cheap vampires five vampires out in a couple of times should be no problem. sorin is an expensive drop so take one out and put in Liliana, shes a 5 drop, and can compleatly destroy your opponents hand all by her lonesome, and with her secound effect u can put any card on the top of your deck!!!! last effect gets all monsters in both graves to your side of the field lolz. and drana is very very evil to.
side deck 2 shrivels and 2 infests for them eldrazi tokens, and 2 Sadistic Sacraments.

Just something to think about, but sideboards are required to be 15 cards if you're going to use one. At least in constructed anyway.

Thanks for the help. I don't usually play with a sideboard, I've just been looking for the right cards to add :)

The only thing that I would change is the 23x Swamp.

I would instead run 23x MTG Altered Art Zendikar "Boo" Swamp.

But other then that, you have a pretty sweet mono black build here my friend. Best of luck in all of your tournaments. I give you 9.0
