How to Play

Once you see the combos in the deck, the strategy becomes fairly obvious. Most of the combos revolve around Essence of the Wild.

Turn 1: Forest or Swamp and any mana-producing elf
Turn 2: Second land Tap both lands and an elf for three more such elves.
Turn 3: Landfall. tap all three lands and all three elves for Essence of the Wild.

Beyond this point, every other one drop elf is a one drop 6/6 copy of Essence of the wild.

Army of the damned will give you thirteen copies of EoW. Verdant Embrace will spit out another copy each turn. Korozda Guildmage can take an elf that was there before EoW and turn it into a token copy of EoW. If you use Korozda Guildmage's second ability on a nontoken copy of EoW you get six copies of it. Parallel Lives doubles the output of Verdant Embrace, Army of the Damned, and Korozda Guildmage's second ability.

Korozda Guildmage, Shaman of the Pack, and Glissa, the Traitor make decent midrange threats to bide time until you run into an Essence of the Wild. Overrun will give you a second win condition in case your swarm works but you don't get an Essence of the Wild.
