Can you explain to me why you have 4x Terramorphic Expanse, and 4x Verdant Catacombs? there isnt any landfall in your deck and its all black... why wouldnt you just have all swamps?

I dont see a need for so many swamps
I would add Honor of the Pure
I am looking for some constructive criticism on a life gain deck I put together last night. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- i forget what its called, i just know i run 2 of em. theres a 5 mana white angel with exalted and "when a creature attacks alone it has lifelink". pretty buff for a deck like that. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- theres also a sorcery i had stolen from me: "you gain 2 life for each plains you control" ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- >lifegain Its bad. Really, really bad. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- I originally had this in, but with the large number of: 4x Graypelt Refuge 4x Kabira Crossroads 4x Sejiri Refuge and the fact that it's 5 mana for that sorcery, I didn't think it was needed ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- 4x Felidar Sovereign. If you insist going lifegain, you might as well max out the current winning condition it has going on. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Battlegrace Angel ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- lol yeah, i got the soldier starter and have been doing some work on it and the FIRST thing i did was take out the crossroads ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Or alternatively, use the Superior-In-Every-Way-Possible Baneslayer Angel, if you can afford those or already have them. Though I really wouldn't spend the $200 on a playset just for a casual lifegain deck. But if you do have them lying about, you might as well put them in. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- im pretty sure if you're running a white deck, and you have a baneslayer you'd be using it... just one of those things man... ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- There are some more scrubby people who refuse to use good options if they are overtly popular or powerful. And Baneslayer is definitely both. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- haha most people don't have those just laying around. The idea I had behind this was not only to be able to win through getting to 40 life, but also being able to get a flying creature to incredible attack and defense with craddle of vitality. ex: have a Emeria Angel and Wall of Reverence out, with a Cradle of Vitality. Cast Soul's Grace on Emeria Angel and gain 3 life, and add +3/+3 to the angel. Then at the end of your turn, you gain 6 more life, and add +6/+6 to the angel making her 12/12. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- a good idea, but with jund lurking around out there its just too many permanents on the field. imo anyway. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- next turn add lifelink to the bitch and attack, gaining 12 more life and +12/+12 making her a 24/24, and at end of turn gain 24 life, making her a 48/48 ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- well there is silence in the deck to make sure you can pull off a big move like that without someone interrupting. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- aaaaand maelstrom pulse oblivion ring journey to nowhere pacifism [insert random jund faggotry here] ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- but keep in mind, that creature may have died, but you still gained 9+ life in 1 turn, not to mention the other methods of life gain with Angel's Feather, or the Lands in this deck. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- assuming you ever got to pull it off, yes. the point im trying to make here is that your deck should be very modular. instead of relying on CERTAIN cards, they should ALL be able to devastate an opponent. in this combo you use 7 separate cards. against the aggo out there, youll be dead before you can even play enough mana to play that many cards. much less keep them out. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- all that was done with 4 cards, a single Emeria Angel, Wall of Reverence, Cradle of Vitality, Soul's Grace ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- same story ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- but beside what I stated above, there are plenty of other combos in this deck as well. Ajani Goldmane's avatar at least doubling your life the turn it comes out. Sunspring Expedition's +8 life gain plus +8/+8 to a creature. And I find the Solemn Offering are also a great touch. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- My thoughts are that there is a bit of fun to be had, if you are willing to make it green-white beat/lifegain. . . Armadillo cloak is fun -- although tends to draw some hate or removal from opponents. Pick up the WW doublestriking blademaster ally and the life gain ally maybe? Ageless entity is a huge beatstick with lifegain but needs a trample method or evasion or lure. You might want Angelic Chorus -- it is a bit expensive though REGARDLESS KITCHEN FINKS. Kitchen finks works very very well with goldmane, because they can swing, persist, get counter, repeat next turn. Or, get counter, swing, persist, gain life, next turn, get counter swing, persist, gain life, repeatus. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- I don't think this deck need it. Plus it might have trouble with mana as it is, so the creatures need to be low in mana cost. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- It is probably a type 2/standard deck. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- It seems by his card choices hes trying to stick with Shards and newer ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Bah. Thats hardly any fun. Go for the entertainment value, find some people who aren't obsessed with playing standard/best deck out there. . . Run some nice, strange decks. Like one who's creatures all or almost all have this these abilities. "[card name] enters the battlefield with [number] +1/+1 counters on it. If damage would be dealt to [card name], prevent that damage. Remove a +1/+1 counter from [card name]." ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- I mean, this looks like a lot of fun to play non the less. Though I think it will have a lot of trouble with removal because of the combos requiring 3+ cards. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Motherfuckers never played against "Life." Ryuichi Arita played a lifegain combo to a top 8 finish at PT Columbus in '04. OP, if you want to play an inexpensive, entertaining lifegain deck, play this. There is nothing quite like the look on an opponent's face when you sac a 1/1000000 Spiritualist to Worthy Cause, then buy it back. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- agreed ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- and this is why type 1 is stupid. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- I'm not seeing how this is supposed to work. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Pay 0 to target the Daru. Target the Daru ten million times. Sac the Daru, gain ten million life. Watch your opponent tremble in despair. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
It has 4 Knotvine Mystic's present.
