My LGS is planning on having an "old school" league with only sets pre alliances as legal. Think type 1.5ish (actually a blend of type 1 and 1.5) This deck s built with the banned and restricted list from that time. My take on a classic Necro deck. Enjoy!
*Edit*
The banned and restricted list for this league is as follows in case you are wondering:
Banned list includes, Black Lotus, All of the Moxes, Mishra's Workshop, Bazaar of Baghdad, Time Walk, Ancestral Recall, Timetwister, Mind Twist, Ante Cards, Shahrazad, Time Vault, Channel, Chaos Orb, Falling Star, Library of Alexandria, Divine Intervention, Mana Crypt, and Fastbond.
Restricted cards inclued, Demonic Tutor, Sol Ring, Regrowth, Balance, Zuran Orb, Maze of Ith, Wheel of Fortune, Ivory Tower, Black Vise, Feldon's Cane, Land Tax, Sylvan Library, Candelabra of Tawnos, and Fork.
Get out a Necropotence as quickly as possible and win with card advantage. Use disruption like Strip Mine, Hymn to Tourach, and Hypnotic Specter to slow down your opponent. Once you have the hand you want to win, reset board state with Nevinyrral's Disk and drop your game winners (Ihsan's Shade, Sengir Vampire, and Juggernaut). White had the best removal and wipes during this time, so the pro white cards are good for this. The key is to try and not let your opponent get to 4 mana before you have your desired setup.
Sideboard is not set in stone, however I tried to take advantage of the "counters" black had at the time. Specifically, Stromgald Cabal. Xenic Poltergeist can help you get rid of artifacts and Gate to Phyrexia can help shut them down. Reflecting mirror is there for burn and Feldon's Cane is for mill. The search cards in the main deck (Demonic Consultation and Demonic Tutor) can really increase your efficiency so use them as soon as you can.
