This is hilarious! I never would have thought of it myself, and don't imagine it's consistent enough to be very feared, but I love it! Thanks for posting!

Ravager gets it done faster than Scribnibbler, yes. But Hedron Crab is just as fast as Ravager (assuming the opponent is playing a 60 card deck) and with Scribnibbler in play too that would actually be faster. I agree, I like that better, and if I had the imagination (and hutzpuh) to have come up with this deck myself, I'd have built it that way.

The way he has it is a little more versatile, though.

SB the Personal Sanctuary to stay at 60 cards - it only prevents damage on your own turn anyway and won't prevent the "pay two life" alternate casting costs as they are not damage; if you find yourself facing a lot of direct damage off instants, you can sub them back in for that match.

I like Vault Skirge in this deck, and it will usually gain you enough life to be worth spending two life on, but you might consider adding some black mana anyway.

That said, overall I like it.

You need more card-draw. One common mistake in stompy decks is not enough draw. Remember that these decks play fast and if you don't replenish your hand, you will have your opponent down to four life, run out of cards, and lose the game. (I've done it way too many times myself!) What I find works best are Bequeathal, Yavimaya Elder, and Gaea's Blessing.

That's the biggest thing to tweak right now. After that, my second biggest advice is you don't need so many harvest wurms. You won't have enough land in the graveyard to reliably cast them.

You are definitely on the right track for stompy though.

BTW, here is my 7L stompy: http://www.mtgvault.com/ViewDeck.aspx?DeckID=146137

I still think the final essence of stompy is the old 7L Stompy (or 10L Stompy, more usually - I take mine down to 7 so that's the name I remember first; I've seen one down to 4 but it only worked with free no-land mulligans). That said, this is definitely a stompy deck and I love it!

I think you'd be better off dropping one of the Turntimber Rangers just so you don't go over 60 cards, especially running only 20 lands. And I'd try to get a 3-drop creature in there too to help the mana curve. But I like it.

I like what you are trying to do with this, but I think you may be trying to do too much. You have a mill deck, an Illusion-based Aggro deck and a blue control deck trying to be one deck. This leaves you with your mana curve very top heavy and with too many cards/not enough land (less than 1:3 land/spell ratio with 12 spells at 5+ mana). You will end up with a hand full of cards that you can't cast.

I would focus on the Illusion-Aggro. You can make this a pretty fast aggro deck with lots of flyers if you do and with so many creatures plus Lord of the Unreal, you should be able to keep them in play too.

Try replacing the Titans, Djinns, Mind Unbound & Erasure with Krovikan Mist and Illusionary Servant. Then sideboard ways to recover your illusions from the graveyard or prevent them from being targeted.

I hope that helps!

That's a good idea. I'll have to play around with it a little. Right now, with all the shuffling going on in this deck, Divining Top usually finds the Beacon by the time I need it, and I have draw with Harmonize and the Top in a pinch. But I'll give it a few more test matches and keep that in mind, thanks!

A friend of mine recently challenged me to build a series of decks. We were discussing color splashing and I said (as I am sure many will agree) that green is the easiest color for splashing as it splashes well and naturally with any other color.

So he challenged me to do a "Green And" series. I have 24 hours to build a deck that is "Green And" each color, to demonstrate my premise. The Judges (our other friends) later ruled that this includes "Green And Green." In addition, I have to have at least one each of Tribal, Aggro, Control, Combo and Creatureless (though these are permitted to overlap), to demonstrate versatility.

This one covers "green-and-", and creatureless, to complete the series.

Here are the links to the others. I hope you will look at and comment on each!

This one covers green-and-black, and as I would refer to it as "aggro-control," I'm saying it covers both.

This one covers green-and-white and control. Even though it's just an update of my oldest deck, it counts.

I love it. So simple, so sinister. Looks like a lot of fun to play (maybe not so much to play against ...)

Sterling Grove over Greater Auramancy - you've no (enchanted) creatures to protect but can use the search. Leyline of Sanctity over Ivory Mask. Those two are easy calls.

You should also consider some sort of moxes or something: for this deck to work you need to get the pieces out FAST and you are running a slow mana-curve; you need ramp. I can't really tell you what to swap around to do that, though.

Honestly though, Honden decks never really caught on for a reason: too slow and too many pieces needed in play to make it work (ie: too many copies of legendary permanents clogging the deck). It is a tempting idea, but not a good deck platform usually.
