Deck Description

I'm looking for help with the mana ratio and the creation of a solid sideboard.

I looked up a tribal deck online for dogs and found something constructed along the lines of this. I have most of the required cards the list suggested so I made up for what I didn't have with this.

1) There are supposed to be 3x Embercleaves but I only have 2 so I put in 1x shadowspear to make up for the missing card until I get 1 more embercleave.

2) I put in a 1x ferocity of the wilds to make up for the missing Glorious anthem.

3) Ideally you want to run a full set of fabled passages, but I only have 1 so I tried to make up for the rest with other lands. The mana ratio is where I feel the deck is lacking and would greatly appreciate any suggestions on how to fix it.

4) I would love some feedback on making a sideboard/adding different cards into the mainboard. Mill rogues and bullshit mono red goblin burn decks seem to be dominating the standard format. There is nothing I would want more than to destroy such meta decks.

Deck discussion for Standard dogos (Help)

Love the idea! I would add Rin and Siri...so maybe splash a little green. Mana base could be as simple as 4 of each of the lands from zendikar rising that tap for either red, white, black, and some green...and that you can always make sure that you get the color that you need. Maybe a few savai triome, and the one that taps for white, red, and green?? If you don't have to stay modern, run isamaru, hound of konda from champions of kamigawa. Great one drop!! That's what I got!

That's a really good idea but I'm afraid that it might take away from the synergy of the deck since the main buff to protect creatures would be from pack leader. Am I wrong to think this? I do see the potential to cast a shit ton of dog creatures, pump out some cats, and launch a full on bolt hunter combo attack.

Do you think replacing Kunoros with larrus of the dream-den would be a smart move and keeping kunoros in as a sideboard for graveyard decks?

Also I gotta say Isamaru is a great suggestion for when these cards go out of standard

I think pack leader is a good synergy to run with...but Rin and Siri gives you another win-con of just being able to directly deal damage based on the number of dogs in play to a player at anytime...but the gain life ability for creating cats is awesome too. Pack leader is good...but it doesn't prevent your creatures from dying from spells. You would also have to think of a way to prevent wrath from killing all...that's why green is a better color for heroic intervention. I do think that putting kuranos in sideboard for graveyard decks would be better and then running lurrus mainboard.

Thank you so much, you have some solid points/ideas. How many Rin and Siri's should this deck be running, maybe x2? I was thinking about taking out 1x of Alpine watchdog and 1x Igneous cur. As far as the sideboard I would like to have answers to agro burn and mill decks. Any ideas for that?

Of course! 2 Rin and Siri should be good. I'm not a fan of running playsets of legendaries...because if you end up drawing more than one, it's just going to sit in your hand. I would almost take out two kunoros instead of alpine watchdog and igneous cur, or sideboard kunoros and mainboard lurrus. As far as aggro burn, heroic intervention would be great to protect all of your creatures...you could also run eldrazi monument, but the downside is that you would have to sac a creature every turn to keep it, but the benefits are fantastic: +1/+1, flying and indestructible to all. Maybe that's when you have lurrus to be able to bring back a creature from the graveyard. Lurrus would also help with mill...but I don't know any other ways off-hand. It's more of a swarm deck that you are running.
