Deck Description

Blue red control based mainly off of RTR, Built for standard. So, Izzet good ;)

Pretty much turned into a Delversnipe, Destroyed some competition with this setup though!

Don't know how much more to change...Thoughts?

Deck discussion for Izzet Good? Oh, it is!

Izzet good? It's allright 4 sulfur falls over the guildgate will help alot
You have alot of clunky main deck cancels you will have misses between 3 syncopate 3 negate 4 essence backlash and 4 izzet charm (there are at least other semi useful modes on that one)
For your budget your creature base is good though snapcaster would be better
If you need a main deck cancel 4 main deck syncopates or dissipates should be good enough I feel like 4 pillars and 4 searing spear are good cards with guttersnipe it becomes monstrous reach (damage that he's through when creatures can't or normally can't for the win) or solid removal

Thanks for the Help man. It's good to actually get some feedback on this site :) Will definitely think about the spells here, so maybe 4x syncopate 4x searing spear 4x mortars, 4x cyclonic rift 4x charm, maybe throw in???

I like dissipate over syncopate but I like the rest of that

Going to swap out guildgates for sulfur falls as soon as I can get em', I don't know if I want to main deck searing spear yet, I feel like I keep running into situations where it is just not enough, I want control pretty much until im drawing cards to a point where I can choose my spells according to the situation....I think having them in the sideboard is a good option if control fails to aggro....Thoughts?

I largely agree with what trollking21 said, though I prefer Dissipate over Cancel. It costs the same, but it exiling the spell is a bigger benefit as there's a lot of cards that can be played from the graveyard.

Personally, with Izzet being so spell orientated, x Hypersonic Dragon, Mercurial Chemister and Niv-Mizzet, Dracogenius are too expensive for my liking. Each time you cast one of them, there's mana you can't use during your opponent's turn for your control spells :/ personally I'd cut them all for draw spells (Think Twice is awesome) and burn spells. The more spells you have, the more effective Guttersnipe is :)

Question for anyone reading, I feel like I may crack and pick up snapcaster, do you think he should be a playset???

He won't ever drop in price (he's played in most formats) so ya there's no problem with him

Drop the Guild Mages, put in Increasing Vengeance.

Better cost effectiveness.

I think I will keep the guildmage, I like his card manipulation ability, and the option to copy, though I think I would definately atleast sideboard Increasing vengeance or run it through some play testing....

So, some other things, should I drop Chemist and hypersonic for snapcaster....I think it would be a huge improvement to the deck...but I love the chemist he is so fun :)

Also I may not update this list until I attain some of the cards for it

Thanks Much for the help guys! Let me know if you got a deck I could look at

since your running a bit of negation, you could possibly run rewind and instant draws like think twice, free cancel than draw cards :p

Very nice deck. Yet another deck i'd love to try mine against. I'm worried by your main deck though. Guttersnipe and niv mizzet are your only decent damagers in main. Isn't it more effective against more decks if you use direct damage spells in main? I'm a very bad draw and if i run this deck its likely i'd run out of counterspells before i could draw either and my enemy would have enough mana for serious sh*t. I'd know, i've tried haha. Check my deck. http://www.mtgvault.com/ViewDeck.aspx?DeckID=407169

Well.. I dont really like nivix guildmage nor syncopate, I would put searing spear and Nivmagus Elemental in the nivix place
I dont like Dracogenius either but I guess you do, so I wont say anything about it kkkk

Searing Spear for sure, thinking of throwing in Delver over guild mage and maybe a Tarland somewhere, and yes ive been testing with the spear again and it will more than likely find a home in the deck... thoughts?

I see you have Volcanic Geyser in your sideboard. I feel like Devil's Play is better even if it's a sorcery.

If you have some time could you check out my humanimator deck?
