Deck discussion for modern vampires

My personal opinion about Vampire decks, ditch the red. The only things involving red mana are stormkirk, falkenrath and terminate.
Bloodline keeper is one of my favorites. as well as Anowon the ruin sage. Also think about draw power to make sure the deck doesn't run slow. Sign in blood and read the bones.

Here is mine. I am 100% happy with mine and it runs like a beast.

I thank you for your advise. However if you looked all the deck is below 4CMC. This deck kills fast and without mercy. Adding in guys that slow down the deck or cost to much mana will not be good for the deck. The red parts of the deck are buff's, speed and kill all of which a good deck needs. I do have draw, nights whisper. I maybe want to try read the bones just cause of how far you can dig but its 3 mana. I don't doubt bloodline keeper is good, however my falkenrath will win every time, even more so with a buff from stormkirk(also gives first strike) and Vampire Nocturnus. anowon is too slow and just gives a small bonus to creature advantage.

I totally agree. My deck is more midrange and turns on around turn 4 5 and 6. After it turns on, it gets exponentially unmanageable for the opponent. By turn 5 or 6 your deck is probably at its peek.

You argue a good case for the red. Just not my taste is all =)
Keep up the good work, awesome deck.

Mainly Modern. Sometimes standard, but that isn't nearly as fun.

Rakdos Carnium would be nice, you could swap it in place of those Cavern of Skulls. It taps for a Red and Black instead of either or. Other then that, what's the main mechanic?

The idea here is to get out a few creatures, throw out vampire nocturnus making them HUGH and swing for the kill turn 5. Happens often even to say its consistent. With a Low CMC and the speed of vamps its hard to overwhelm this deck. The reason cavern of souls is in here is the fact it makes them protection from counter spells. rakdos carnium slows the tempo down A LOT. By the turn that is active and able to us I have already dealt between 2-9 damage to you.

just like any tribal deck the downside is board wipes but if you don't over extend yourself you can recover fast enough to keep pressure. Also with blood artist if you do kill anything you lose life and I gain it.

Let me know what you think.

Hmm, I'd have to play it to really see how it would turn out. But it seems solid.

I would honestly make this deck. Its fast and hard to deal with. Even if you proxy it.

Give this a look for me. I changed it up a bit since I looked at yours but I like it. It still needs some work though.

I would either remove or sideboard "Blood Artist". If you want to use some 'if something dies' effects here then I would favour "Kalastria Highborn". Otherwise I would use "Shadow Alley Denizen" or 2-3 "Guul Draz Vampire". "Bloodthrone Vampire" or "Viscera Seer" could be an alternative (sideboard) if you're up against a deck that play some removal spells.

I was going to suggest Butcher of Malakir but he's to expensive for this deck considering his power.

I like the highborn but the "pay" a mana to use its ability in a deck that is 95% of the time tapping out to cast vamps I would only get 1 trigger if I'm lucky. Blood artist does it when ANY creatures goes to the graveyard. Highborn doesn't. I've won so many games attacking for 12-16 cause of Vampire Nocturnus and then at the second main phase sac'd everything with falkenrath and my opponent dies. its a great combo.

@kightofdisorder I would play grave pact over butcher just cause of CMC.

Yeah, I run a deck built around two Butchers though. Using Slum Reaper and Grave Betrayal. It's most just to combat one of my friends elf token deck. Killing Wave with a butcher or two on the field.

Anyway, it seems nice.
