Deck Description

Due to Prized Amalgam, this is a blue shifted version of my previous Dredge decks:

http://www.mtgvault.com/germynator/decks/dredge-is-the-better-mill/

Now this is 4 color therefore the mana base is crutial.
I use 10 fethes, 3 non-mounain basics (vs. Bloodmoon, Path or Ghost Quarter...), the obligatory Urborg and 7 shock lands diversed as much as possible.

Improvement IDEA:
i noticed, that Prized Amalgam triggers multiple times if multiple creatures revived from the graveyard. E.g. Crawler into Crawler into Vengewine = 3x Amalgam
A free sacrifice outlet in between would be nice. With so many fetch lands Bloodghast could also be sacrificed way more often then they currently do which would again trigger Amalgam...
Viscera Seer is the only card I can think of atm but he does not create much advantage

How to Play

First turn play Crab or Looting. If you have neither of them play a shockland tapped and save yourself some life.

2nd turn the Troll is very nice (unless you have some vengevines and Gravecrawlers in Hand then save your2 summons for the 3rd turn)
Ideas Unbound could also start your engine.
Playing life from Loam into 2 fethes also works.

3rd turn you could go off with Troll-Gravecrawler-Vengevine(s) or flashack another Looting.

By turn 4 you should be able to Dredge and generate your card advantage. If you stabilized by that time, you probably will generate more card advantage then you opponent could overcome :)

----

The Sideboard contains to major points:
a) Aggro Hate: Creature removal with Darkblast or MCut and Gnaw to the Bone to survive the early game.
b) Anti Hate: The biggest threat against dredge will come out of the sideboard. Agains all decks that could run Ooze or Surgical Extraction you must bring in Ground Seed to not auto loose. It replaced itself and protecting the grave is more important then the tempo.
Relic of Progenitus can still sacrifice itself but not slowly pick your grave a part.
Ancient Grudge will help too and improve your mathcup vs artifact decks or Ensnaring Bridge control. Nature's Claim also helps vs. Leylines of the Void.

Deck discussion for Dredging Water 3.1

Bloodflow Connoisseur is my favourite, but you could use also Greater Gargadon or Grimgrin. I think that for modern you got no other "sacrifice only" choices (aside from Nantuko Husk and similar cards)

Thanks for the comment

Bloodflow Connoisseur probably is the best one for the job but non-zombie 3 mana is not worth the efford :(
Anything else you would change?

it depends. I avoided any option like "pay {1}, sac a creature", but if you think it could work, there shold be another bunch of cards. Another restriction is modern, among older cards there are a few good choices (i.e. Altar of Dementia)
