It is imperative that this deck has land each turn early game. That is why it needs 24 land. As for type 2, low cost trample chants/quips, they do not exist. This is why there is 4x Putrefax. 4 mana is a bit expensive. Corpse cur is good long game only, which is why there are 2 mainboarded.
Strength of the Tajuru. Your jaw will drop when you see why it is necessary in this deck ;) Good luck!
Not to mention that if they have the mana for a memoricide (meaning that I more than likely also have at least the 4 mana) and they use it on a chalice they have some mental problems or something. LOL
Assault Strobe would be pretty sweet as a big FU.
More Battlespheres, in my opinion. They are ... so ... awesome.
I am very open to suggestions :)
Vines of Vastwood, Groundswell, and Giant Growth should be in this deck for turn 3-4 kills.
This deck needs Duress + Memoricide. Gives you some serious control.
Assault Strobe and fling would be great for this. Chandra's Spitfire as well.
I recommend 4x fauna shaman so you can sack out some creatures. I saw it done tonight at FNM and it was pretty cool.
Yeah, good point. I was iffy on if that one would be useful. Thanks for the comment.
If you want more landfall goodness, throw in some Evolving Wilds. It may slow down your deck too much but they are worth a try. Take a look at my UW control deck if you get a chance. I'd love your input. http://www.mtgvault.com/ViewDeck.aspx?DeckID=111780
Versus anything red or green I will replace the cancels/2x mana leak with the flashfreeze. Versus anything reliant on creature abilities I will switch in Linvala for baneslayers. Leonin arbiter will replace a silences on decks that rely heavily on searching. On decks that rely heavily on chants/facts but not so much creatures I would thin out condemns and ousts for revoke existances. As for ratchet bombs, it really depends on what archetype im facing depending on what I would switch out for it. I don't really have a set list to switch out based on archetypes for this deck due to it being so control-ish. I really just have my sideboard for switching out for better control cards than I have in it originally based on what I'm facing. As I play the deck more, the more I learn what to switch. I am enjoying the deck a lot!!! Thanks so much for the comments. I'll reply to the mana curve question as I play it out a bit more! Great suggestions, by the way.
Carrion Calls were put in really just to ward off my enemies swinging freely with prized creatures. Nobody wants a dwindled down key creature. Tajuru Preservers are for if I ever face Drazi or other sacrifice mechanics. I have no Vengevines. Good thought. Thanks for the comment!
I have the Isochron Sceptre x4 and Orim's Chant x4. You have NO IDEA how hard it was to behave and stay standard!!! I am going to think of a nice legacy setup with a similar theme today ;) hehehe
Nice deck. The only thing that I really have to comment on is that unless you go for more of a health gain theme, Kabira Crossroad is not worth it. It will just slow you down. Beleren in this deck is awesome.
Also replaced 2x Condemn with 2x Oust. Great suggestion. I prefer Oust if Sorcery speed is sufficient (cuz 3 life vs double that plus for huge creatures is uber nice). Rounds the deck out a lot more nicely depending on the situation, I think.
They need to bring back fabricate. Like, yesterday. ;)
I swapped out the Halimar for Terras, added another condemn in place of the negates, dropped a land (felt I may be flooded especially with the everflowing) and stuck in a few cancels and dropped a day of judgment. Very awesome comments, guys.
