Main Deck (60 cards)

Sideboard (23 cards)

Submit a list of cards below to bulk import them all into your sideboard. Post one card per line using a format like "4x Birds of Paradise" or "1 Blaze", you can even enter just the card name by itself like "Wrath of God" for single cards.

Deck Description

This deck was created with multi-player games in mind but seems to work quite well in 1:1 matches as well. It's not meant for competitive play and my group (myself included) despise any instant win combos so we don't use them.

Currently there are more than 15 sideboard cards because I'm still trying to find the best balance and combinations. Furthermore the sideboard holds cards for a 1:1 and for a multiplayer version of the deck.

strengths:
- quickly gain and keep board control
- very resilient creatures (exile or graveyard removal are the only ways to get rid of them)
- can kill all creatures in spite of hexproof, protection, indestructible, regenerate,...
- 5 tutors
- solid life gain with Exsanguinate and Bloodchief Ascension
- solid draw engine by abusing Skullclamp
- resilient mass removal with Black Sun's Zenith

weaknesses:
- no easy removal for enchantments and non-creature artifacts
- vulnerable to graveyard removal and exiling (creatures are needed for maintaining board control, tutoring and drawing cards)
- vulnerable against rush strategies in 1:1 games (these strategies do not work in multi-player environments and that is what this deck was created for)

sideboard & cards in question:
- Bojuka Bog: Counter graveyard based strategies
- Attrition, Grafted Wargear: Attrition is my preferred card but useless against black creatures.
- Bloodchief Ascension: Great in multi-player, too slow in 1:1 games (without Grafted Wargear it's hard to get the required quest counters early in the game)
- Elixir of Immortality: Brings back vital Grave Pact, Skullclamp, Exsanguinate and tutors.
- Mutilate, Bile Blight: 2 cards are probably enough beside 4x Black Sun's Zenith. Mutilate is my preferred card Bile Blight shines vs token decks.
- Mortivore, Phyrexian Obliterator, Steel Hellkite: Mortivore is my preferred multi-player creature due to its resilience and perfect multi-player scaling. What the other two creatures lack in resilience they make up with abilities to destroy any kind of permanents.
- Recurring Nightmare: brings back resilience to Steel Hellkite or Phyrexian Obliterator.
- Steel Hellkite is probably this deck's best shot at enchantment, planswalker and non-creature artifact removal.
- Selesnya Sanctuary + Aura Shards: Another possibility for enchantment and non-creature artifact removal. The deck allows for easy tutoring hence 2 of each should be enough even against enchantment heavy decks. Further Selesnya Sanctuary offers a way to bring Glacial Chasm & Bojuka Bog back to hand

Improvements?

Now is your turn but please keep the decks multi-player focus and theme in mind. Thank you! :)

general feedback?
card suggestions?
how would you deal with enchantment and non-creature artifact heavy decks?

How to Play

Multiplayer: play deck as listed above
Singleplayer: replace Bloodchief with either Steel Hellkite or Phyrexian Obliterator

- sacrifice with Attrition, trigger Grave Pact, get board control
- sacrifice with Diabolic Intent, tutor card, trigger Grave pact, get board control
- sacrifice with Skullclamp, draw 2 cards, trigger Grave pact, get board control
- sweep boards with Black Sun and Mutilate, get board control
- drain life and possibly end games with Exsanguinate

Deck discussion for sacrifice the weak

tutor card - entomb/unearth
CR that work well in a sac deck you may think about - mortician beetle and blood artist
planeswalker removal - hero's downfall
gy removal - surgical extraction
cr removal that works well in a sac deck is tragic slip
discard cards for control is another way to go - duress, inquisitin of kozilek, thoughtseize ... but many actually go with cabal therapy for this with a sac deck / combo of peek at op hand with cabal therapy ... even duress would let you peek, remove, then cabal therapy to remove say that gy hate card that duress may not be able to touch

Thank you very much for your feedback!
- Booth Mortician Beetle and Blood Artist are not resilient enough. I had the beetle in at one point but there are simply too many board wipes in multiplayer games and I'm doing enough damage with Bloodchief Ascension and Exsanguinate.
- I can't see the value of Tragic Slip in this deck. There is already enough creature removal in this deck. Beside Grave Pact, Mutilate and Black Sun's Zenith do a wonderful job and I don't mind a board wipe, my own creatures are back in the field soon enough.
- Thanks for hinting at Hero's Downfall and Surgical Extraction.
- Imho targeted discards don't provide enough value in multiplayer games. I prefer cards like Cunning Lethemancer, Necrogen Mists, Unnerve, Mindslicer or Gibbering Descent.

I did give you some feedback to your casual deck. I'm afraid I can't offer you anything valuable for your tourney deck it seems good as is. The only criticism that went trough my head is the heavy use of non-basic lands. Cards like Blood Moon could hurt you badly but then you have counterspells and Revoke Existence. So good job and good luck.

multiplayers are though, I'm so used to just me and my fiance playing casual. trying to get back into tourneys lately tho has proved interesting
ppl suggest a lot on here, but it doesnt always fit the meta game at home

as far as resilency the lightning boots would make a beetle or artist last...but it also takes up card space. don't blame you on not switching it up for either of em
as far as boardwipes - damnation
and a newer reprint of smallpox are usually easy finds for every player's removal, land destruction to slow them as well
wrench mind can work as well. targets one player, but good to sideboard if you know they are running a POD deck or something else that depends on an artifact type combo

Yes multiplayer MTG is a totally different game. You should try it, it's so much fun. Rush/burn/counter/mill strategies normally do not work. You simply can't have enough burn/counter/mill spells in your deck to finish/control 5 opponents. After your attacks your wide open for attacks from up to 5 players so you need blockers otherwise your done pretty fast. This means you have to build your decks to last (games end very rarely end at or before round 10). Imho this is why resiliency and cards that affect all players/opponents at once are the most important things in this meta.
This is also why I prefer Mutilate/Black Sun's over Damnation any day. Both can get rid of indestructible creatures as well as creatures with regenerate.
