Deck Description

well, as you all know, eldrazi monument has great potential, as long as you sacrifice some creatures, what if you can stall for 5 turns?well lets just say at that time you will have an army of 9/9 indestructible flying angels , a little lifelink wouldn't hurt either. all comments welcome

Deck discussion for Big Bad Angel-Standard

Eldrazi usually only works with some sort of combo. Nissa for green, goblin assault for red, and emeria for white. The addition of Emeria the sky ruin would help you recycle your sacc'ed captains and shieldmates.

I don't think I could depend on the amount of control you have to contain people for 5 turns and utilize luminarch's ascension..You have to decide..is this going to be a control deck or ally deck. I don't think it wil work as both. Also...having such an insignificant amount of allies isn't relly that useful.

I don't think allies is his goal. The goal is to just block and stall until you can get luminarch pumping out angels and then play your eldrazzi monument. The 8 creatures he has are just there to block until you are pumping out angels, and because of the captains he will gain life whenever they block. I would replace Join The Ranks, Indestructibility, and even the Honor of the Pures with some control or damage prevention though. If you are able to get luminarch to pump out angels you will not need Honor of the Pure or Indestructibility. You just need to control until you get those counters because then you can bring out as many angels per turn as you have mana for.

eldrazi is just a dead draw in here
once ascension is active you win th egame anyway so why waste mana and angel material on eldrazi?

allso makindi shieldmate ? wtf as only ally?
there are enough good defenders
you'd better be running 4 baneslayers
and if they are above budget you'd better run 4 wall of reverance

your probem majorly is you have alot of creature support but no creatures worthy of it
and the angels are only late game and don't even NEED boost

conclusion remove all creature support add blue and play fog spells and counters
and walls of denial
and choose other wincons

Shieldmate is there just to block and as a defender it gains him life. The only creature protection is brave the elements as the others are basically fog spells. Wall of Reverence would probably be better than shieldmate to give you more air defense, plus the extra lifegain from its ability. Aethercraft is right about Eldrazi though. If you are pumping out angels it won't really matter at that point if they don't destroy luminarch right away it is just a matter of time until you win regardless. Probably better off adding in more removal or damage preventions.
