cascade counter question
Hey guys
Am I correct to assume that when someone plays Bloodbraid Elf cascading into thoughtseize that I can Daze BloodBraid Elf with both toughtseize and Bloodbraid on the stack, Let Daze resolve countering Bloodbraid then let toughtseize resolve?
Basically, Can I counter any spell on the stack, not just the top one? Somehow this was the first time it came up and it was in a test session and that's how we played it but my test partner wasn't 100% sold on the concept.

From my understanding, yes. If you counter the bloodbraid immediately, cascade still happens, so it makes sense to wait and see what he cascades into (as you did). BB hasn't resolved, so it's just as much of a legal target to counter as the spell it cascades into.

yeah thanks, I checked it with a judge over here and got the same answer, you can counter whatever is on the stack.
