I haven't played in years. Got my first new deck and there was Aurelia. My friends and I play casually but with the advent of the internet card purchasing those games have gotten very burn heavy and cutthroat. I wanted to try the Commander format, and put something together with what I had available. Angels, soldiers/knights, and goblins working together to produce token creatures and overwhelm my opponents. But this simple burn/overload deck seems like it should only be the starting point. I want to do it creatively, and utilize the 100 card format and Aurelia's untap ability to string together some interesting combinations. I am looking for suggestions, not trying to spend a billion dollars on a whole new deck, but happy to throw some cash at rounding this out. Also, I am toying with the idea of adding black to the mix since I usually play green/red and am trying something new.
This deck is about building an army and sweeping away the competition. In multi-player games my favorite tactic is "you really shouldn't have done that." As in I'll build my army and let others develop theirs as well, but if you start attacking me I'll be burning your attackers. The creatures are set up so that I can either get some quick creatures, get some quick creature tokens, and pop down a few big guys to help turn the tide. The spells are made so that the red spells are mostly burn, the white spells do something but also gain me life as a secondary effect. There is a martyrdom/temper combo that I thought would be fun for a late stage set up, but I haven't really constructed this deck as much as I've pieced it together. Gameplay or combo suggestions would be appreciated.
