The owner of this deck hasn't added a sideboard, they probably should...
Start typing a card name and use the auto-complete feature to quickly select the card you're trying to add. Enter a quantity and add that card to your sideboard!
Submit a list of cards below to bulk import them all into your sideboard. Post one card per line using a format like "4x Birds of Paradise" or "1 Blaze", you can even enter just the card name by itself like "Wrath of God" for single cards.
Another serious budget deck involving black. This one is vampires. I'm trying to build a deck using two colors that isn't mainly white or green. I have been having trouble because I don't know which deck to actually build... I would greatly appreciate it if you guys could tell me which deck you prefer. this one, or the other one which involves clones/control. Tell me which one looks more fun to play, and tell me if you think there is a modification I could add to make a deck better. Here is the other deck: http://www.mtgvault.com/ViewDeck.aspx?DeckID=369954

Once you go black you never go back :P I will always prefer RB, since thats what my first deck was. Ive loved the colors ever since. I do like the deck, and i feel your pain for bein on a budget
if you had the Mythic Vamp from M13 and the Dual land it'd be really good. consider bump in the night it makes the deck a lot faster.
Too much red for nocurnus, and I really doubt I will ever run bump in the night. Does anyone have an idea of what I should cut if i ever get any bloodline keepers?
I feel like you need to be running child of night, at least until it cycles out. I would probably drop the blood artists for them. And i do suggest running running the nocturnas and trying to cut the red down some. If you really wanna run the red as heavy as it is, id change out the blood crazed neonates for falkenrath exterminators. I'll get my RB Vamps online so you can see what i decided on. But mine isnt budget.
http://www.mtgvault.com/ViewDeck.aspx?DeckID=372062 Here's mine. The Liliana's are almost purely a source to shuffle for nocturnas. And some more removal.
Well the thing is, blood artist will gain you a ton of life and get rid of a ton of your opponents life, and still stay standing throughout the game. Child of night is annoying and can easily be taken down by 1 power creatures. Eventually it just becomes useless I figure. With blood artist I could at least chump the weaker vampires and gain life out of that.
To get full potential out of the Aristocrats, you would need to be running at least a few humans. Since you aren't, switch them out for the Bloodline Keepers. Same CMC, but it's more durable and potentially huge if you have 4 other vamps in play. :) DON'T touch those Blood Artists, as Rosene suggested. There's a reason that card is in so many black decks right now, it can be pretty damn powerful. You're right, you are running too much red for Nocturnus. However, Child of Night would be a decent replacement for Bloodcrazed Neonate. Lifelink trumps what potential growth the Neonate has, especially with how fast standard decks are running right now. On that note, trade Rakish Heir or Vampire Interlopers for Stromkirk Nobles, their price has really dropped since they're no long run in RDW as much. Humans are in almost every deck right now, especially early game (Avacyn's Pilgrim, Delver, Doomed Traveler, etc), so there's always a good chance that you'll get a couple counters on it before that have something out that can block it. :) Get a playset of Evolving Wilds in there, even if you have access to the R/B lands. Color fixing is always a plus.
I will consider some of the things your saying. I think if I don't end up getting aristocrat, it's because of the price. I think I will end up getting bloodline keepers or in the mean time, falkenrath marauders. Also, turns out I own one stromkirk noble, so thats a start. :) I might go a bit more into aggressive control with this deck. If I do, one or more evolving wilds is going in for sure. I'm playing post rotation, so I'll have to say no on the child of night suggestion. And one final thing. Falkenrath aristocrat is probably the biggest creature in every single deck that runs B/R. Its extremely fast, and the sacrifice could be any creature and goes well with blood artist. Almost nobody ever runs humans along with it, and it still works out for them.
NP, seeing a lot of post-rotation decks lately. Which reminds me, I am seriously going to miss the Blood Seekers and Geth's Verdict in my vamp deck. -.- Here's hoping for fun stuff from RtR. In the meantime, though... I was wondering if you were using Aristocrats as sac engines. I have Bloodthrone Vampire in my build, but I'm not running red so my choices are different. I was going to suggest Olivia for your deck as an obvious color fit; she might be more control-like, too, but I'm not sure she fits your budget. I am confused about one comment, though... What about Evolving Wilds makes it control? O.o It's just a tool to make sure you have both your colors in the quantity you need. I for one have been color-screwed enough times to appreciate it. LOL
Really nice deck! Here's my take on vamps: http://www.mtgvault.com/ViewDeck.aspx?DeckID=366774

not a bad take on a B/R vamp deck.
not a bad one... Not particularly great either! But I may be wrong... I haven't finished yet so I haven't bought any of the cards for it.

I was thinking of cards until I saw the estimated deck value. I think we should focus on that instead. It is always fun if you're not spending too much. And the whole deck is actually well rounded. I think I would: -2 Brimestone Valley +2 Thunderous Wrath +4 Evolving Wilds. You should probably maintain this around $50. Overall, very well-rounded deck for a very low cost. But if you're planning to rise the price a little bit, we should put in Stromkirk Noble. It also makes the mana curve run smoother. Nice take on B/R vampire deck fluffyweresheep! Standard? I'm not sure, I don't play standard, but if not. I would totally run vampire hex age and dark Depths combo :) just for a "more win" combo!
That would be funny, if I was playing a few games with somebody, and the first two games I win/lose using aggressive vampires. Then in the final game of the match my opponent gets an aggressive start, and for the first time in the match I pull off the combo. I imagine the people around me going "WTF"
I've seriously had my own vamp deck bak wen I started playin, and I won tournaments with early as turn 3 mayb 2 win by gettin dark depths out with hex, and jus seein my opponents jaw drop haha
Heh that sounds pretty epic. The best part about the hexmage is that it isn't just usable with dark depths. There are many ways in which the hexmage is useful, including getting rid of planeswalkers, shutting down creatures with tons of plus one counters, ect. If I was in modern or legacy, I would consider trying to get a few copies of each of those.
Olivia, she a good card and dual lands like dragon skulls
i have a budget vamp deck 2!! thy adding stromkirk captain
