Found this old deck in someone's collection.

Would it be worth adding Evil Presence? That way your Funeral Charm can give you an unblockable Master at any time?
Always cool to see an old card resurface effectively. Is there a way to get to Lord faster? It's still a lot of turns to live on tiny creatures.
Switched out Green Sun's Zenith for Eldritch Evolution to maintain standard legal status. Both mana Elves will work for the sacrifice.
Thanks to the new set, I've adjusted this adding Harvest Season and reorganizing the rest of the cards to more perfectly fit the theme.
This deck has been adjusted
But for those who don't have enough Baneslayers the deck still works with other angels
And it fits with its vigilance ability
I've already made some adjustments based on sample-hand testing. Seek The Horizon gives this deck the speed burst that it needs some I'm going to keep it. I'll adjust further if I see fit.
It's just a fun deck anyway
I wanted to keep the deck Standard legal. I don't get to play much anymore so I use this site to keep me in the game a little bit, and as a creative outlet. Correct me if I'm wrong but only M12, Innistrad, and the most recent previous expansion group are Standard legal. I like the power-to-cost ratio. But I'll look to see if there's something better.
On second thought, adjustment made
Baneslayer was the last card I took out. Not because of quality but I didn't want more than one Mythic Rare in the deck. I like to keep my decks reasonably plausible to build. Those who have 1 or more Baneslayers should most certainly incorporate them.
It was there to help pull out extra lands. I replaced it with Cultivate
In a single-color deck you rarely if ever need that much land unless you have specific cards that take advantage of having a lot of lands in play. Furthermore, you have 4 Dark Rituals in this deck, so you've got more than enough mana sources. I would take two lands out and add two more Nightmares which is your only card in here that directly benefits from having a lot of lands in play. Brought out mid-to-late game, a powerful Nightmare can end the game for you quickly.
Nevertheless, where's your offense?
The first thing I would do is play test this deck to figure out which cards work best together. The trouble with having only one or two of many different things is lack of consistency. Also why don't you have more Aether Vial? It's the most important card in here. This is the one that makes sure you can't get creatures out consistently. I see you've left room for 23 lands. This is probably enough but it might be more prudent to use elves and other mana-producing creatures instead. This would give you a few more early-turn creatures to prevent you from getting too far behind. A good idea overall, you just need to refine it.
I see your argument, but I wanted to have a quality big creature in this deck. I looked at a couple other options but Serra is more consistently effective.
There that's better
