This deck was never planned for Rafiq. All i wanted to do was equip all five special swords onto a single creature, so I chose the one that looked the most promising. Over time the deck has changed. It has gotten more expensive and more diverse. I now have a side goal to equip as many bloodforge battleaxes as possible. Nothing is better than an opener with a sigarda's aid/puresteel paladine and a bloodforge. The deck is not the best because it is not optimized and people often fear the deck for what it CAN do and not what it is DOING. This is just my rendition of something I find fun playing.
There is no wrong way to play, but this deck can only win by combat damage. So, if you want to win a lot I would suggest adding a stripmine and wasteland to the deck list. I don't play competitive so the cost for me is unnecessary, but a Tower of the Magistrate and Maze of Ith will ruin almost any chance of this deck winning. In the end the best way to play is to see how many bloodforge battleaxes a birds of paradise can carry by constantly hitting the life gain player. (Best I have done is 26 axes before a vandalblast took them away)
