Mono Black Budget for guys like me who wants to laugh at their opponent's face.*ignore the side* *please add input for the sideboard*
block early with 1 drop creatures. removal + life gains to get to your merchant and corrupt. control early land + damage with contaminated ground while building your devotion. for controls, make sure to duress first to remove counters before dropping wincons. use 1-off ghostcaller to recycle merchants/sadist. incase.

I'd sideboard a couple copies of Vanquish the Weak or Eviscerate for when you go against other black decks. Contract Killing is pretty decent, too, since it gives back a couple of mana that can be used later. Victim of Night is also really good pauper instant removal unless you're playing any vamp, werewolf, or other zombie decks.

yup. I will be adding a side in a sec. thank you for the input! :)
Desecrator Hag is a great card as it allows you to re-use your Gray Merchant of Asphodel if he is in your graveyard.Qarsi Sadist could be switched for Viscera Seer if you favour card-advantage over lifegain. Tragic Slip is one of the best removals in my eyes, especially when you have something that forces you to kill/ sacrifice something...like Qarsi Sadist (if you keep him)GreetingsMuktol
Thanks for the input tho the cards you mentioned doesnt really work with how deck the runs I think. The desecrator hag is too big for this deck without any other advantage aside from getting a merchant. the one-off Ghostcaller can take care of that. for just 1 mana, it can recycle 2 merchants. Viscera Seer is not a big card advantage but Ill try it out. Id want to keep my cards tho for devotion. Qarsi's 1/3 is a blocker against most early game aggros. Tragic Slip is too situational
Festering Mummy and Shambling Goblin are cards that want to die (or get sacrificed). The reason I mentioned Viscera Seer are those 2 cards and their combination with him. If you block something that wouldn't die from combat damage alone you can at least make some CA with the effect from Seer. Would be interesting to get some informations on how well the deck worked. I fear that against most other decks you will be pushed into defence and I don't know if Gray Merchant and Corrupt will be enough to finish your opponent fast enough.
yup. this is certainly a defensive deck. being a long time control player. using deathtouch and blockers and removal early game and smartly using duress before dropping your wincons, merchant/corrupt, win games. the early game harassment of contamnated ground and side board possession will provide you merchant devotion. you just gotta know when to play your cards and be smart about keeping track of where your life stand for maximun effectiveness. idk if you play a lot of control but life is a very useful resource to sacrifice to play mind games against your enemies. :)
