Deck Description

This combo requires a bunch of specific cards, so the walls are there to encourage players to attack each other instead of you. The top and tutors are there to help you find the right cards.

1) play Lethal Vapors and put Pithing Needle on it. (EDIT for clarity, cast Pithing Needles first. you might get odd looks when you name a card that has not been played yet (Lethal Vapors), but that way an opponent cant use Lethal Vapors' ability in responce to you putting down pithing needle)

2) play Ivory Mask or Imperial Mask.

3) play Endless Whispers and Phage the Untouchable

When you play Phage, it dies right away because of Lethal Vapors. Endless Whispers lets you give the Phage to another player. That player loses the game. The mask prevents you from getting the phage so it will get passed to another opponent. That player loses. In the end you will be the only one left :)

And the only card that will cost any real money is Pithing Needle so you can get this deck fairly cheap :)

I don't really see how anyone could see this coming. Seeing peoples' reactions to getting killed by this combo would be hilarious.

dude, it took me a sec to figure out how you give it to your opponents. Then I slapped myself saying, "Of course!"
Id hate come accross this deck, unless I got counterspells.

an opponent having counterspells or disenchant/naturalize/tranquility is a problem because the combo needs all these enchantments to work

Maybe this deck could use a Greater Auramancy?

Maybe some Enlightened Tutors too since I need enchantments mostly and enlightened is cheaper than diabolic mana-wise

hmm....

Well done! It's refreshing to see a Johnny deck up here on the site.

I might make the suggestion to switch out a bunch of your walls for Walls of Shards. The idea is to stay out of the line of fire, and Wall of Shards will make you some friends early on (it doesn't much matter how much life they have once the combo goes off) , and you're getting a 1/8 flying for 2CC.

Oh, and removal will ruin all of your fun. You might try Greater Auramancy, as others have mentioned, or you could wait until Magic 2010 comes out and stick a few Silences in there.

wow wall of shards is great, I don't know how I could have missed that one :P

I'm making a final (till M10 comes out) version of this deck now. Will post it when it is done

I think this combo might be banned in multiplayer because I think it starts an infinite loop to win you the game. I mean, you literally lose the game as an instant! And I think when that happens their turn ends, and you get the card going to your graveyard again, triggering endless whispers. So yea I can't see this being legal, but if it is its quite retarded. Im not sure who would get to chose though after a player loses because they loose, and then it goes to your graveyard. I don't think that that player gets to choose in which case either you get to choose, or the combo ends. You might want to check with a real judge, but depending on how the triggers hit the stack, and what the exact rulings are with a player losing the game, and still getting to make certain decisions...I am not completely sure. If it works the way you think it does then...lol

well I tried this on MTGO, and the vapors and phage's "lose the game" effects trigger simultaneously, so that player picks the order...then if they pick vapors first they pick who gets the phage at the end of the turn, making another player lose. it can't be me because of the mask.

But you're right, it cant hurt to ask a real judge.

I have only one word to describe this deck: Mwuhahahahahahahahahaha. That said, this is a great concept, and looks like it would completely blindside a table of players, totally using this build, thanks for the idea.

You play vapors, then pithing needle, in response to your pithing needle I pay 0 and skip my next turn, vapors is gone when pithing needle comes into play. What do you do? and don't say wait until you get another one.

First off... if no one sees the huge combo coming, who wants to skip a turn in multiplayer FFA? You may get away with it just because of that...

But the logical choice if you are worried about that is to reverse the play order... just play pithing needle first (it's 1 cost artifact anyway). You'll get some odd looks when you name a card that hasn't been played yet, but would still work. I think this deck is more worried about counterspells at that point than the activated ability of vapors...
