Play Purphotos as fast as you can (possibly without 5 or more devotion) and then submerge your opponent with damange. Even more fun if played in a Two-headed.

You Can't use the gods as Commanders, They're enchantments Before they're Creatures

Purphoros is not a creature.
I can't find this rule anywhere, can you pls link me about that?I've seen many list playing gods as general, even in local tournaments...
I'm pretty sure they can be used as generals. Since they are technically "Creatures" As a type and are legendary. Just when they are cast from the command zone they don't come in as a creature without the required devotion.
They are an Enchantment before they are a creature, meaning An enchantment Cant be a commander.
I'm doing some hunting on google right now, there is no talk of them not being commander general usable. People are actually talking about if they'll be banned due to their abilities of all things.
Update, here's a linkhttp://forums.mtgsalvation.com/showthread.php?t=535217
Well I apologize, I was told otherwise from the store where I play, MB
Eh no problem, I can understand the logic behind your reason there. Although the idea of banning some I think I can understand. Maybe Erebos due to his drawing ability. People think Thassa also because she Scrys each turn.
