So I set out to build a Grixis deck featuring Nicol Bolas, Planeswalker. The point of the deck is survival and control. Card draw attempts to give you either land or threats to put on the battlefield. If not, there's enough control to wipe out the opponent's creature base and even counter their good enchantments and planeswalkers.Game is basically over when nicol bolas comes out, but the game can be won by the desecration demon alone. However, the opponent will try to destroy all the powerhouses, so this deck has a contingency plan for a hasty fireball slinger or a slow play life gainer.
Get creatures onto the field steadily, but without attempting to dump your hand. Kill off threats that can't be dealt with by creatures. Use the nighthawk to gain any life lost during the fight, or to kill a devilish attacker. Use the evil twin to kill legendary creatures or anything above 3 or so toughness. If and or when bolas comes out, game is over.
