Deck Description

I wanted to make a deck featuring Warehouse Tabby and stumbled into making a Rat tribal deck. I leaned heavily into the Rat theme and as a result I find this deck very fun to play.

Revenge of the Rats doesn't perform particularly well in this deck, however, I still want to use it. Lord Skitter's Blessing is a very powerful card to replace it with. It synergises very well.

How to Play

You want to use removal spells judiciously. Rats cannot defend, so be proactive in removing threats. Basically, just use up all of your mana every turn and attack whenever you're able and the deck should perform ok.

Rat Out can take care of any 1/1's, Dead Weight can take care of 2/2's and if you have Warehouse Tabby, also provide a Rat. The Witch's Vanity can take care of tokens or anything up to 2 cost (it can also provide 2 rats on occasion if you think about it), and Eaten Alive can take care of anything else including planeswalkers. If you have a Voracious Rodent, it will also power up.

On turn 5 you will likely play Banner of Kinship or Twisted-Sewer Witch. Provided the opponent hasn't been proactively removing your rats, you will win. If they have been playing removal, Revenge of the Rats will help you rebuild on turn 4.

Alternatively, if you play Lord Skitters Blessing instead of Revenge of the Rats, your hand will always be full with removal spells and you wont have any mana issues.

In the event that you have 2 Warehouse Tabbies, or 2 Twisted-Sewer Witches you can produce rats at extreme speed because of the way the Wicked enchantment works. You can even throw wicked rats at your opponent en mass and they will be replaced by Warehouse Tabby or doubled if you have 2.
