Deck discussion for Boros Battle Cry

May remove 1 steppe lynx and 1 geopede for 2 accorder paladins. also sideboard is still ify, seeing how I don't know what to really expect out of MB

why dont you proxy in mirran crusader and see how it works..
in my opinion its one of the best cards from besieged and coupled with battlecry its down right amazing!

LOL before i even saw this comment, I was checking your deck. :P

and accorder paladin is... ehhh. his toughness is only 1, which is a pain. i'd just use him for the battle cry.

yea mirran crusader is pretty beast to say the least a 3/2 with doublestrike is good enough but then add on top of that prot from b/g is simply beast. i made the changes you advised i believe but i have one more question. i posted it under my deck:)

Lose the Koth. With just 5 mountains he's next to worthless for you.

Otherwise I like it so far. It's a bit more...controlly

Really? you think I should lose koth?
yeah i got 5 mountains, but in order to play over half of the stuff in my deck I need at least 1.
I'd use him for his +1, a 4/4 flier swinging with a bunch of battle cries seems sweet.

Care to enlighten me more on him?

haha hero is good enough in my opinion... i mean turn 4 drop bladehold, turn 5 drop ridge you're attacking with a 5/2,4/4,3/1,3/1 minimum... plus you probably have a signal pest or 2 to make that even more beast.

i made a few minor changes to my deck and it's working quite well.. you should check it and tell me what you think, also i need help on the sideboard if you dont mind

I could be off but I'm not really sure you need/want either hero. It seems like the white one is better, despite the lack of haste but the problem is they both cost 4... Most boros decks get by with everything costing 2 or less which is what makes them so quick and good. I would cut the Emerge Unscathed and add in another Steppe Lynx again. I can't honestly see any of the other cards being better than turn one Lynx or Guide. The Paladin seems fragile, but worth testing I suppose. I dont think I like the War Driver as they're kind hard to cast in this deck, it seems. Typically it seems like it would at best be turn 3 average of being played which makes it considerably worse. If it were me, I would probably want another 1 or 2 Journey to Nowhere and maybe 4x Squadron Hawk. Yeah, it seems kinda lame I'll admit but I've lost more games to a stupid hawk than any other card in the deck. They get really mean when suited up with equipment. It also gives the deck more long-term stability should it need it. Kor Skyfisher is similar and the "bad" effect he has actually benifits you with bonus landfall triggers or a replayed Stoneforge Mystic.

I have actually made a boros with everything you just said, lol. I'm just trying to give this one more of a battle cry feel.
You can check my other boros, if you wish.
But i've yet to playtest this one, so when i do i'll get back to you. :3

lol well contrary to what edna has said(everything she said was valid) my deck works super well(which is super similar to this one) and there is nothing better than throwing down bladehold t4 and then oxid ridge t5 and hitting for a butt load XD all the previous turns are well executed with lynx's and guide's of course and maybe the occasional geopede and accorder paladin.

Hero of Oxid Ridge is beast if you can drop him on turn 4 or sooner, the haste is what sells him to me. i really like BOROS battle cry (with all the sweet white cards(Hero of Bladehold)) but you should check out my R/G battle cry deck, it is very fast and powerful.

I like a lot of things about this deck. But I'm sure if you test it you will find that it lacks the consistency of the current Boros build. The heroes seem too good but they really are a bit slow for what boros is trying to do. The biggest downfall to this deck is the lack of flying creatures. You will miss squadron hawk: I promise.

Alright, so on mine Aaboy suggested Pyrexian Revoker in place of Wardriver. You will be amazed by it. I went:

-3 Wardriver
+1 Pest
+2 Revoker

try it and love it =]

I realllly want to find a way to include 3 spikeshot elders. they're soo good. lol.

also kor skyfisher seems like she'd do well, here.
I'm going to try mapping this out on paper tonight, then I may add a new deck-varient of this and my other boros.

wardriver is so good with guide. First turn guide, second turn wardriver, thrid turn guide swing out if no one plays a creature except you in the first three turns like in control and they are being bad you have 12 damage turn three and maybe more if you played a geopede with landfall. I also havea RDW please feel free to comment on it as well want to take it to my standard here

This deck looks awesome i am actually going to build this i just gatta wait till oayday to order the cards. Nice job ethan! If you would like to check out my B/G and/or my mono blue deck and make some suggestions i would really appreciate it. I have only been playing a couple months and could rly use some help with my decks.

That's not Boros. If it was Boros, it'd have Boros Legion cards in it. Just because it's R/W doesn't mean it's Boros.

Looks alright though. Other than the name. Good job.

in regards to the land, i have penty of land. all i need is 1 fetchland to boost something with ad gear by 4. with is 1/5th of their life gone. and if it's on a steppe lynx, it'll boost him to 8, which is 2/5ths.
and goblin guide, if you put a cobra down, ill swing. if you really dont mind taking a bunch of life by turn 3, then thats cool, because i have turn 4 to swarm you and finish you off.
goblin guide is amazing. and who says he's going to turn up land?

also take out sword of body and mind and basilisk collar because they have nothing to do with this deck and put in one more hero of oxid ridge and one more hero of bladehold. They will work greatly if you run 4 of each.

i 100% disagree.
yes, journeys are great, but this deck is fast. so any threats that can compete will either be small enough to not worry about, i.e. another boros deck or goblins. plus if anything big comes in thats actually worth journey-ing, i'tll be too late for them to have a chance when they drop it.

sword of body and mind is for protection against green and blue, and equiped to a pest will do wonders, not to mention give me a 2/2 wolf. and b collar is incase i dont have a journey and really need to dispose of a threat.

the heros are good, but for 4 mana they will slow the deck if i run 4 of each.

For a creature deck that also relies on landfall, you have a pretty low amount of lands. 35%=below average. Usually I see people play with 40% lands. Unless the landfall stacks/accumulates, then i understand the strategic reasons behind doing this. For example, if you play arid mesa, and then you play plains, then does your Steppe Lynx get +4/+4? Is that legal? All in all, this is a pretty kickass deck, anyway.

So? Even red has efficient ways to deal with a strategy like this. The point is it's supposed to be so fast that a 4 mana answer like Day of Judgement will probably be too late.

A few changes, added bonehoard (ditched the 3rd hero)
and also, ditched the pests for squad hawks. the +1/+1 rarely makes a difference, and plus when i draw a pest if i dont need it, usually it's a dead draw. so the hawks prevent that. and can also block fliers.

alright so i removed a lot of battle cry, and why? well the idea was nice, but it in all honesty either rarely helped, or the big guys slowed it down.
so, i added mirran crusaders, double strike and protection is always nice.
added bonehoard because this a weenie deck, things will obviously die, and that ensures great pump.
squad hawks over signal pests because they CAN block fliers and thin the deck.
arc trails can take out many things in standard, now.
and thats about it.
sideboard is still shaky, but who cares, lol.
