Well, with the new standard post-m12 meta, I decided I need to be able to do a lot of things. With valakut on the rise, I need to be able to kill their dudes, take care of their valakuts, and be able to side-board hate them out. With fast aggro decks like puresteel, RDW, and even some mid-range mono black controls, I need to be able to stabilize fast. Put down huge threats early game, and back them up by bigger threats late game. I need to be able to get around protection. This may seem really hard with mirran crusader and such cards like sword of feast and famine, but this deck can easily blow up a sword, and with pox I can force and opponent to sac their crusaders. And finally, this deck needs to be able to survive caw blade... Yes, it's still viable. Thrun makes this deck perfect for that spot. Thrun, vengevine, bloodghasts... none of which can be countered. Perfect. (:

Kinda disappointed I had no room for discard... In neither main or board... But, looks strong enough to overcome it. I hope at least. My biggest worry for this deck is puresteel. Sword of feast and famine sucks so bad. I mean, I know I can blow it up via beast within, but if it's not well-timed... I'm screwed. Half worried about valakut. But with 3 evil presence, 4 tec edge, and then a butt load of removal, I think I'm fine. Basically my whole board (minus hex parasite and disfigure) comes in against valakut. Eh. Caw blade... easy game plan. Ditch vengevines, ditch bloodghasts, get thrun. get solemn. Get persecutor, pox you out. :'D Besides that... I feel safe. The new jund list has me a bit worried... it's exceptionally stable. But I feel as if I can race it. As long as they don't realize urabrask is amazing in the list (yeah, you heard it from me).

Black Sun's Zenith might be the answer this deck needs. Your creatures can come back. Their's won't unless they Sun Titan. Mirran Crusaders die to -1/-1 counters as well as their Puresteels, which might just give you the advantage you need to get to lethal.
It's funny, because I'm a huge bsz fan. And after I threw together this list, I thought about black sun. But even though my dudes can recur, I don't like the idea of wiping my board, and giving them a turn to do anything. Haven't tested yet though, so you might be right (:
If anything, board them. Garruk will make sure you have creatures. I love the way these decks work with creature producing planeswalkers. Wipe the board and you'll have all the card advantage you need.. just play your Garruk and / or Grave Titan. As a side note, I'm so glad to see Solemn Simulacrum make the cut. Talk about card advantage!
Hey man, can you check out my changes on that Jund deck? I need an outside opinion. http://www.mtgvault.com/ViewDeck.aspx?DeckID=210598
yeah man, no problem (:
No reason why this should have 4 Verdant Catacombs? Having 2 Marsh Flats instead is just weird. :b
I only own 2 verdant, so i use 2 marsh flats. :'D
bloodghast and vengevine go together like chocolate and peanut butter. :D i have a feeling that if innistrad adds a third member to this dynamic duo, b/g graveplay is going to be huge.
They're like the doughnut and the hole (: And i hope innastrad brings back hymm to tourach... if it does, i'll be the happiest man alive. painful quandary is TOO GOOD to go to waste! D:
