Deck discussion for Artifact Aggro (SOM Block Deck)

Wow, nice deck! I've been trying to think of good block decks for a while now but have been to lazy to actually put one down on paper (or a website). I'm a little wary about the 4x Dispatch, simply because it is fairly situational, even with a deck like this but idk.. Testing will sort it out a bit, I suppose. Overall it is solid looking, though. I can't help but wonder if Slash Panther may be a bit better than Precursor Golem just because it can connect a solid 2 turns earlier and bashes planeswalkers that are maybe otherwise undefended on an open board. Idk. Something to consider. Not sure if I would even make many other changes (though a sideboard would be nice, haha). Solid start to what looks to be a solid deck!

Thanks! Through playtesting online, this deck is fast as.. well, something really fast. (:
And with that noted speed, I find even without metal craft, dispatch is really good. Tapping down a wurmcoil is actually really good for 1 mana, lol.
And slash panther can only come out 1 turn before precursor, and with tempered steel, i pay 5 for 3 5/5s. plus they aid metal craft. slash panther is good, but for this deck, I find the golem is a more solid defense.

The sideboard, I don't really know where to start. I like the new clone.. pjhyrexian metamorph? not to mention it's an artifact! (: I'll probably add dismember, because 4 life to kill pretty much anything could save my ass every now and then, lol. but do you have any suggestions? I was thinking maybe marrow shards, and even norn's annex could do me well. who know's there's a lot of possibilities. (:

Umm, about the Slash Panther thing... It has haste soo... It comes out and (with Tempered Steel) beats for 6 on turn four and 6 on turn five and 6 on turn six - a total of 18 damage. Now look at Precursor.. 0 on turn four. 0 on turn five. 15 on turn six. Panther still wins! Granted, it gets much worse later and I can't fault you either way as they both seem good. Just an idea to run with is all.

I guess I can see that being fine for Dispatch. Suppose as fast as you plan to kill them the exile isn't even needed half the time.:/

Umm... Sideboard... I think artifact removal may be awesome right now so some Kor Sanctifiers seem fine for mono-white or else Divine Offering is great, too. Maybe running Tectonic Edges in the SB? Swap them in for the Inkmoth Nexus? It's an idea... A blue splash is also possible using the dual lands to splash in cards like Spell Pierce which I've seen people do in a mono-white quest deck before and it seemed ok. Leyline should be good vs. Valakut. The new Apostle's Blessing could maybe be ok against UB control decks with lots of spot removal.. Umm, idk. it's really hard to say right now with the metagame about to shift in pretty significant ways. I'm struggling with sideboard stuff right now, too without knowing what people will be playing all of the sudden. Oh! The new Exarch deck looks like it could be pretty popular for a while at least so you need some way to not auto-die to it. Actually... Apostle's Blessing would help you there by giving their Exarch protection from red as they cast the enchantment..
yeah, I'll be done ranting now.:)

I would have tec edges, but this is a block deck D: so I can only use cards in Scars, MB, and NPH. I would use a lot of the cards you mentioned in standard, but sadly, this is not standard.

and yes, slash panther hits earlier, but meh... I'unno, he IS hasty, so it's a good suggestion, I'll just have to find out through play testing. Thanks :D

Wow... I feel really stupid for that last post with all the ideas for standard.. I even knew it was block before but I guess forgot and haven't checked on this deck for like 2 weeks.:P Ha, sorry I still don't have much to go off then...

Haha no worries, the infect is MUCH stronger, anyways. like it's barely comparable.

Oh another maindeck idea! The new rare white splicer card - Blade Splicer I think. Works nice with Precursor and is still on it's own 4 power at 3 mana...

It's funny, because I originally had blade splicer in the deck. But I took them out for master's call. 2 3/3s at instant speed :D

Ok, so... Made a BUG deck that is legacy legal but mostly just casual. It basically turned out to be Team America but cheaper... Any suggestions on some cheap, efficient beaters for it? Thanks.

I'll try it out... legacy isn't my strong suit. and while we're on the topics of new decks, wanna take a look at my white green landfall? : o the new one.
don't know if you were around to see my old landfall, but the comments were in a mass amount. :P

Nice dude =]

Not much I'd change here to be honest. I don't really like the Inkmoths that much, as they are probably more situational than you'd think, and they overall slow the deck and give it a bit of inconsistency, in an otherwise very consistent design.

btw, I never like doing this, but I recently designed an updated (and I think even FASTER) version of my RDW design, and I'd like to see what your thoughts on it are. =]

Thanks man, glad you like it! :)

I like the inkmoths, because they're really the only decent non-dual non-basic land in standard, and with a tempered steel, they boost to a flying 3/3 and leave a mark due to infect. I only ever need to hit 2 white so 4 colorless really doesn't slow me down all too much.

and yeah man, ill check your deck now :D
(dont worry, asking seems like the best way to get attention around here :P)
