Deck Description

This is an update to my Underworld Puzzle Box. I know my original will not make it in a tournament setting, so I have changed it up a bit.

The main cards in this deck are Puzzle Box, Underworld Dreams, Painful Quandry & Omen Machine. The plan is to start with Underworld dreams then when the puzzle box, PQ and the Omen Mach come out, you have to play whatever has been puzzle boxed and take 5 damage for each spell played.

Any suggestion welcome! :)

I like the deck a lot 8.5 out of 10. it seems like a lot of fun to play and had enough removal and mana generation to get you to the place you need to be fast. Although, there are a few things in my opinion that you should do to it (but that is my play style and not having been able to play the deck in person, and i explain why i think these things).

The Omen Machine seems kind of counter productive since it wont let your enemy draw cards to take the damage from underworld dreams.

As a personal thing, i would drop 2 of the Painful Quandary since it is a high mana cost and by the time one of them is out it will be wrecking them on it's own.

Sign in Blood would be a good card for the deck. 2 black mana for "target player draws two cards and loses two life." With them taking up to 4 damage from drawing a card as it is, it can become a 2 mana 10 damage card. Or it could help you get off to a faster start.

Bloodgift Demon would be a creature form of Sign in Blood, target player takes 1 damage and draws 1 card at the beginning of each of your upkeeps for a strong flying creature to boot. (depending on what you are looking for, either card would be really nice)

Font of Mythos would be fun in this deck too. Since you have Psychosis Crawler and underworld dreams. It has each player draw 2 additional cards each turn as an artifact, meaning up to 8 more damage a turn, giving you more playability, and making your crawler more powerful.

Unholy strength would be good as well for your Psychosis Crawler. 1 mana to give it +2/+1 which will keep it alive from the puzzle box resetting your hand size to 0 before drawing, which would kill it.

I would personally do this;
-2 Painful Quandary / +2 Font of Mythos
-4 Omen Machine / +4 Sign in Blood (or 2 Sign in Blood and 2 Bloodgift Demon)
-2 Geth's Verdict / +2 Unholy Strength

The only reason i say get rid of Geth's verdict for the unholy strength, is that unholy strength will save your creatures while you dont necessarily get to choose what dies with geth's verdict. Keep 2 in there for the added removal with the go for the throat and doom blade, but not as reliable as those two cards in my opinion.

Also, sorry for writing the book. I just wanted to make sure you knew where i was coming from with my suggestions. I like the deck, and didnt want to seem like i was bashing it in any way.

Not complaining at all. Hmmm. I do like those ideas! This is a rework of another deck I will post that just wouldn't win, just piss everyone off.

My reasoning behind the omen & PQ & Puzzle box is nasty if they have cards in hand. They pull a card that's instantly played (5 life if not a land), then have to puzzle box playing every card that they pull. I killed someone in one turn when the combo went off last night b/c he had a full hand of cards.

I'm looking into the cards you suggested & will make adjustments :) It was funny when the guys I played against laughed when they said my underworld dreams didn't work. But when I told them what they had to do, and the damage they would take... PRICELESS! :D
