Scape Familiar Deck

by Eragon057 on 21 November 2007

Main Deck (70 cards)

Sideboard (0 cards)

No sideboard found.

The owner of this deck hasn't added a sideboard, they probably should...

Submit a list of cards below to bulk import them all into your sideboard. Post one card per line using a format like "4x Birds of Paradise" or "1 Blaze", you can even enter just the card name by itself like "Wrath of God" for single cards.

Deck Description

Tried to base it on the Familiars for mana cost reduction, but I ended up also putting in life gain, shrouding, and a bunch of other stuff. I\'ve finally refined the deck a bit more, but I\'d still appreciate your suggestions.

Yeah, I know. I've been trying to think of ways to cut down on the deck size, but I'm having trouble deciding what to pull out. Suggestions, anyone?

BTW, I've got the Servitors in there for annoying sac prerequisites, like Braids (AAAUGH!!! I HATE BLACK BRAIDS!!!)

take out things like true believer, and the non-aura enchantments

Start with a basis of all the magemarks(three of each) and familiars(four of each) and throw in two coalition victories and three diabolic tutors. then throw in one of each basic land.

that's just my idea.. but if you take out some uneeded cards, this deck looks fun!

I was looking at some of the other decks and I came up with a nifty idea: use the Scape's mana reduction to put Second Sunrise on Isochron Scepter. That way, I can recover from stuff like Apoc, Damnation, and WOG.

Umm... Wow. I can't really make heads or tails of this deck. Everything seems kinda jumbled together to be completely honest. But the first thing I would worry about is your card count. You really should only run a 60 card deck for it to be most effective. Let me know when you've slimmed the deck down some, I may have a piece of helpful advice or two by then. Comment my Mono Black Husk please!

This is Wacked! you've got too much going on there. try sticking to either enchantments or artifacts.

I posted this on your newest deck's page as well.

I meant no offense by my statement; I just REALLY despise Essence Warden unless I'm using her. I'm sorry that I gave the wrong impression.

In your comments, you should give advice on how to improve a deck, not simply state how you would beat it yourself.

Regarding your deck.

Try to simplify it a little. You will find that the deck will be much more reliable if you focus on only a few strategies and keep your card count lower.

hhhmmm i would first cut down on all the one offs... not only do they had unnecessary bulk to your deck they make it unreliable as you probably won't get the cards you need 80% of the time... i like idea of the familiars and magemarks you should focus on that more. having one main focused strategy is far better than trying to put in a solution for everything. you also don't seem to have much mana fixing beyond the dream thrush which is a big problem in a 5 colour deck.

I applaud you for being creative and the base idea of your deck is strong. As others have said, it appears you are tryin to account for a great many possibilities. When deckbuilding, try an build a deck that is supreme in its particular strategy instead of a Jack of all Trades. Use the Magemarks and Familiars to their fullest effect, and I think Concerted Effort is a great idea! Focus on creatures that will abuse Effort. You may even want to pick a color or two and just splash the others.
