Deck discussion for The Ballin' Fallen - Ob Nixilis

Not so sure about appetite for brains, but Temporal Extortion seems really good. As for additions, Verdant Catacombs and Marsh Flats also seem good.

Appetite for Brains is awesome in EDH... It can be used turn 1 to get rid of a bomb as well as let you know what they've got or it can be used late game to bait a counter since they don't want their combo pieces exiled.

If I had the Zendikar fetches, they would be in here as they would be awesome in the deck.

Ermm can you please enlighten me? Because i do NOT see how this can beat my Sigarda deck in a race!( jokes~~)
But seriously, i don't see the combo, because if im not mistake, ob nixillis' landfall trigger ability does not count as general damage, just a loss of life. This deck WOULD be fast enough if the opponent's life is 20, but other than that i don't see much synergy aside from it being a monoblack control with minimal hand disruption.
From the cards you have, I assume this is a semi-budget limited deck, in that case, i have a couple suggestions.
Cabal coffer- Number one synergy with urborg.
Lake of the dead- great mana boost
Strip mine- blow up lands, self explanatory
Thoughtseize- i know this shot up to sixty a piece, but its the best discard for 1 black
Hymn to tourach- still the best discard imo
Dark confidant- i know im crazy, but you can use bloodgift demon as a substitute.
Fetches would be very nice if you have access to them.
Dark ritual- self explanatory
Artifact draws- SENSEI TOP no edh is complete without the top

Personally, I dont think monoblack is the strongest aggro color, I believe hand disruption and soft-control suits black more.

~just some feedback as a thank you for your advice

I have dealt 21 general damage by turn 4 before. It went something like:

1: Swamp, Sol Ring, Lightning Greaves
2: Swamp, Wayfarer's Bauble, cracked
3: Cast Ob Nix, Drop a fetch, crack the fetch, swing for 9
4: Drop another land, use removal on chump blocker, swing 12 for 21 general damage with third player taking 18 already and being dead on the next turn with another fetch in hand.

Although there are other ways to do it as well.

The good thing about a landfall deck is a lot of the land drop is cheap. Things like Terrain Generator, Walking Atlas, Wayfarer's Bauble, Armillary Sphere are extremely dangerous in this deck and they're all found in junk bins. Throw in a Rings of Brighthearth and I can easily drop in 6+ lands in a single turn to make Ob Nix lethal out of nowhere.

I don't really play hand disruption in this deck. Appetite for Brains is specifically there to draw removal or ruin a combo. Hymn is awesome discard, however, I need exile and for 1 mana you can't really beat it. Everyone is ramping into something so there is usually a juicy target and if they have an answer, they'll use it to protect it, letting me resolve Ob Nix without worry.

A lot of your suggestions are great cards but is a bit of a budget issue as well as availability and self restraint. However, this deck is extremely dangerous even as is. Some of the cards just aren't that useful to me though. Dark Ritual was in at some point but I took it out, sure it makes it a little faster but speed is not really an issue in the deck. I opted for Ghost Quarter rather than strip mine since it replaces itself and I can use it on my own lands to get an extra landfall trigger or two (Plus my strip mines are in other decks...).

I don't usually go for the speed kills unless it is 1 vs 1 so adding more speed to the deck isn't that useful to me. I really hate it when I get taken out in the first six turns, then someone wipes and I sit out for an hour so I tend to give the same consideration to others. I don't end the game for someone until I can reasonably kill everyone within a few minutes. With that in mind, the deck is more designed with a bit more resiliency in mind rather than pure speed. I could definitely add things like top or bob and make it more duel competitive but that's not the ultimate goal and there is already a lot of draw in the deck.
