The owner of this deck hasn't added a sideboard, they probably should...

Submit a list of cards below to bulk import them all into your sideboard. Post one card per line using a format like "4x Birds of Paradise" or "1 Blaze", you can even enter just the card name by itself like "Wrath of God" for single cards.
So my best friend and I are trying to teach a few of my younger cousins how to play mtg. we wanted to do basically 2 decks that had the same feel as a versus pack where they are pretty evenly matched and work well against each other. We managed to come up with the idea of a "Burn" style deck and a "heavy hitters" style deck (a mono green really large creature deck with mana acceleration)our restriction are thus:+or- 15 $ for entire deckone legendary creaturemono coloredtry to keep the cards simple as the deck are meant to help teach magic. I am open to changing the legendary creature if anyone has any better ideascards in the sideboard are other possible cards that i looked at that i am un sure if they are to confusing for a noob and or not good enough for the deck/ too good for the deckhttp://www.mtgvault.com/wwcaspar/decks/thrive/this is the green counterpart
a cheaper burn deck built to help teach magic to a noobie. so not designed to be awesome just passable. see above restrictions

I would use Urabrask the Hidden as your legendary. It's out a turn sooner, only costs $2, and shows the value to new players behind having your opponents creatures enter the battlefield tapped. The inverse of this for your new player friendly green deck would be Vorinclex, Voice of Hunger. Would round out the "duel deck" theme nicely. (couple of dollars more that Urabrask though)

an idea... except about half of my creatures that i am attacking with already have haste. not that the opponents creatures entering tapped is not helpful but i wonder if the complexity of tis might be lost on a noobie
This is true. They're all sac creatures though. Your call, but I like the idea of teaching new people to play, keep it up!
when it comes down to it the issue is that it would only really affect it self and dragon hatchling. it seems strange to devote a spot that is basically the commander of a deck to a creature that has a very limited ability. thanks for the feed back though!
For red legends I was more looking at cards like rakka Mar or rorix bladewing
I think Rorix would cost too much to cast. Perhaps consider putting Chandra Nalaar, or Chandra, the Fire Brand in this deck? You'd introduce a Planeswalker to the new people as well as her burn abilities fitting in nicely with the theme. Both cards are worth $3-$4 so pretty inexpensive.
we though about that but decided that planeswalkers were too complicated for their first decks. we might add them into the decks later thouhg after they understand the decks more
Plated geopede+chandras spitfire+kiln fiend+some kick ass burn spells=really powerful, really easy to play burn deck.
I second the Kiln Fiend motion.
hmmm i never really liked cards like that since they are so situational is it really that good in a burndeck?
yeah. they're great. You cast any burn spell, you pump fiend and spitfire. it's like adding a mutangic growth to a lightning bolt at no extra cost. and you can pump them as many times as you can cast a burn spell. the Geopede isn't AS good in this deck style, but you can't go wrong with it.
AND, if you have them both out, or multiples of one, it's even better
I can confirm this as well. I was playing my burn deck today and had a Kiln Fiend out. It really did the trick. If they dropped a creature, I'd burn remove it, and attack with Kiln fiend for 4 dmg. Do not underestimate the power of that card.
