Deck Description

Editorial I acutally hate Twilight, just poking fun of it. But this is my take on a red and black vampire deck. This deck revolves around Nocturnus Vampire so most of my vampires are black or black/red. Verdant Catacombs is just to help me fetch out some land so I don't have to draw it also improves chances of Vampire Nocturus of pumping up all my vampires. I'm open for ideas if anyone can think of anything, yes I know that running 4 bad lands is a much better way to go, but I'm not willing to drop 200 dollars on 4 lands.

Deck discussion for Team Edward FTW

hello im from the br vamps, sooooo, this is an expensive deck, but im wondering how well does nocturnus work without a monoblack deck? also instead of feast of blood and doom blade i would go with dismember, but the go for the throats are excellent. may i ask somthing? is olivia worth making room in my deck for? just wondering because ive managed to aquire 9 of them ever since dark acension, i have no idea how...

So the cost of this deck can be altered a bit, First of all if you take out the 4 Blackcleave cliffs and the 2 verdant catacombs, it would drop the price of the deck by a good 50 dollars. And honestly they aren't even that important, it helps but those 6 lands isn't truely needed. The second thing is that my vampire nocturnus are actually promos, which I spent about 40 bucks for all 4, much cheaper than the original costing about 25 each. So subtracting the cost of the vampire nocturnus and non-basic lands would drop this deck cost by 100.
As far as how vampire nocturnus works, if you noticed most of my creatures are black or black/red, I only have 4 cards in that deck that are not black and black/red still counts as black so vampire nocturnus's ability will still kick in. The reason I prefer feast of blood over doomblade is that it has no restriction of color, and this deck builds vampires up very fast so 90 percent of the time I will have at least 2 vampires out. But you did give me a good idea I think I will sideboard 4 dismembers.

Made some quick changes, and reviewed what you had to say, so I took out the doom blades and added the dismembers, I agree that dismember is a nice card, but I already explained that feast of blood still works better in certain cases so I'm running 2 of each removal cards. As for Olivia shes there for 3 reasons, 1 shes black/red so when shes at the top she still pumps up vampire nocturnus, and 2 shes really great vs token decks I can ping all those irritating flying spirits, she also pumps herself up when she pings thems. Lastly in late game when you have a lot of mana to kill, the ability to ping turn a ceature into a vampire and taking it over is a great control aspect. I wouldn't run more than 2 or 3 tops because she is pretty situational card.
