Deck Description

This is one of the decks I have the most fun playing, I'm still tweaking around with it I can't say it's perfect. It is not a totally original idea as well I took the hinder/tunnel vision idea from this deck:
http://www.mtgvault.com/ViewDeck.aspx?DeckID=309723

I changed it from 4 copies of hinder and tunnel vision to 2 copies of each, because tunnel vision cost 6 mana and if I happen to draw more than 1 copy i would be pretty screwed. Also running 4 brainstorm, 4 visions of beyond, 4 copies of thought scour and 4 copies of Jace will allow me to draw pretty fast, and instead of running two more hinders I rather have Jace, because Jace also combos well with tunnel vision.

This deck is still experimental so feel free to comment.

Deck discussion for Milling sans creatures

mind sculptor really isn't pro mill, personally i'd run memory adept, he can mill 10 as soon as he's dropped, rather than hoping no one tramples your planes walker as you slowly climb him to 12 loyalty without defense, also curse of the bloody tome and increasing confusion are both wonderful mill cards, also i would run cancel or mana leak instead of hinder, other than that great deck, maybe take a look at my mill? http://www.mtgvault.com/ViewDeck.aspx?DeckID=315003

Not to be mean or anything but you have no understand of how this deck works.
-Jace 2.0 isn't for milling its to draw out cards and control. I have enough milling cards, I need control to take place of my zero creature deck.
-Increasing confusion is too expensive, I'm running brain freeze, which means I want tons of 1, 2 mana drops so storm ability will kick into effect.
-Lastly hinder works as a combo with tunnel vision, I already stated it, it puts that card on the bottom of the library so I can tunnel vision their whole deck.

i did see the combos(and did look at the original deck before posting), i also know that a mill deck is generally a down to the wire deck, so i was just giving my personal opinion as you can just pay cheap for increasing confusion at first then if you have a turn where you are stuck with a thumb up your butt (for lack of a better phrase) you just drop all your mana on the flashback and have fun

i do like the storm combo, ponder may be another card to look at in that case as well seeing as you are thinking draw power, plus its another one drop for the storm ability (I also prefer it to brainstorm as it lets you shuffle if you don't like what's up next)

also, i was a little worn out when i posted that last night, so i more than likely didn't put a couple things together in my head, so sorry for missing the couple things i did lol

Its all good dude, its not like i'm saving any money because I already spent it, this deck is done I just need to test it out. But you got it mixed up again ponder lets you shuffle, brainstorm lets you put it on the bottom of your deck. But the true terror of this deck isn't brainstorm, its a combo of hinder/tunnel vision or Jace, the mind Scuptor with tunnel vision.

Heres how the combo works, I counter a spell using hinder and put it on the bottom of my opponent's library, then I cast tunnel vision and name that card. My opponent mills until he finds that card.

yea so I finally took the deck for a test drive, it works really well, I went 3-0 with this deck. Jace combine with the vapor snags and counterspells controls while my other cards mills them to death.

thanks, and if you want a cheaper modification of this deck, I'd take out the 4 Jaces, and put in 4 unsummons, doesn't work as great but still gets the job done.

I like it. I suggest running Propaganda to help prevent your opponent from breaking through with any creatures that manage to stick around. I also like Vision Charm instead of Tome Scour because its instant and it has other abilities you can use to mess up your opponent.

Good luck with the deck!

Vision charm is a good card I'll more than likely change tomb scour out with Vision Charm, but as far as propaganda, since it cost 3 mana and its only slight slow down I perfer vapor snag.

finally made the changes in the deck with vision charms it seems to work very nicely with brain freeze, and the storm ability, thanks for the suggestion.

No problem, I love mill decks but its extremely difficult to make one that is actually competitive. Its fundamental flaw is that there are many cards to prevent you from milling such as reshuffling the graveyard and Mill has no interaction with the opponent. It basically plays like burn but its slower and you can't kill trouble some creatures on the battlefield which makes it hard to last long enough to mill your opponents. Vapor Snag is a great way to get larger creatures off the table but doesn't do much vs small creatures that can easily beat you down in a few turns. I still recommend something to slow all your opponents creatures down like Propaganda or Ensnaring bridge.

Hope the deck runs well for you!

I'll take Propaganda into consideration, its just not a very fun card, I don't like having to slow myself down just to slow other people down. I'm going to run it vs a white token deck, a black zombie deck and a burn deck and see if I can survive vs those three traditionally fast decks. I still appreciate your comments. I been checking out a lot of different users and you and "surewhynot" are the two who I find make the most interesting decks.
