Great Built, I like it a lot.It has everything a Deck should have : Card Search & Draw, Mana Synergy, element of surprise and cost efficiency.
Great Build, I also have a liquid Metal coating deck that I play in Multiplayer environment.I play with the following creatures.Hoard-Smelter Dragon = Destroy Artifact + it gets bigger for doing so.Viashino Heretic = Destroy Artifact and controller take damage.Reclamation Sage = Destroy Artifact or Enchantment when entering the battlefield.Tel-Jilad Justice is a good card to destroy artifact and Scry 2 to organize your next cards.Viridian Revel = Draw a card whenever an artifact goes into a graveyard.
That's a nice build, Altar of the Brood for milling is pretty sick.Check my Enduring Renewal Modern Deck , it might give you a couple of ideas. http://www.mtgvault.com/ely/decks/enduring-renewal-20/
I try to get the SpellBinder imprinted with a Savage beating as quick as I can using Fabricate or any search card available. Once the cards are out its almost game over.
I did very well for myself I must say. Won 3 out of 5 Match.First round VS Green Urza Tron deck was a lot of fun and I won 2 match in row.Second Round VS Mono Black Discard - Terrible match up. Lost 2-1 Third Round VS Splintter Twin - Won 2-1 - I won the first match before he ever made it to turn 3.Fourth Round VS Red Deck Win - Goblin Guide, Eidolon and Swiftspear are just too fast for this deck .Lost both match.Fifth Round VS Affinity - Won 2-1. It would of been 2-0 if I didn't screw up the first match by keeping a Fetch and 2 Archive trap in opening hand.... that was more useless than Tits on a Bull. Note - I had actually wrote in detail each match , forgot to Click on Post Reply and lost it when I refreshed the page . Didn't feel like typing it all again.
Thanks for the reply! I actually added 2 Path to Exile to the deck and removed the trapmaker's snare. I didn't find the need to look for a Archive Trap if its not already in my hand. It does also take out the element of surprise. Removing a big unwanted creature is often better than attempting to Mill the opponent as fast as possible. Once they realize they are up against a Mill deck, they tend to not go Fetch or search their library. Leyline of Sanctity was very helpful for me. Playing against Burn, Discard and other Mill deck works very well. And yes Surgical and Extirpate handle most Combo deck .... I played against a Tron deck and Exile his Urza's land from the graveyard, he sweep up his cards and called it quit. At first I wasn't sure if Ratchet Bomb was going to have any good effect but it prove it can be very good against Affinity, Elves and Merfolk. Keeping a Ratchet Bomb with Zero, 1 or 2 Counter on can create a lot of destruction once activated. I did find that it work well for my advantage.I am thinking of adding 2 Mesmeric Orb into the mix and removing 1 Archive trap and 1 Mind Funeral. I do like the idea of having agro deck Milling themselves but it does also the same for me. I think some more play testing is required for this.I took a look at your Deck, looks like a lot of fun but I don't find that Chancellor is really needed. Based on my experience playing Modern Mill, the odds of still been alive and having 7 lands available isn't good. Yes sure if has a very powerful ability but by the time you can play it you are usually dead.
Nice deck for someone who is on a budget.
This deck should use some Scry land .... just to make sure you have a land coming next turn.
What is the purpose of this deck
Take out 2 Imposing Sovereign and add Fabled Hero . Beside that its looks good .
Check it out for some help and tips. Not saying my deck is the best , but it might help you out a bit in finding some good Mill cards.http://mtgvault.com/ely/decks/ultimate-mill-deck/
Your deck looks good now Gallifreyan, one thing you might considering is adding Stern Mentor in there to soulbond it with Crab, making twice the Milling. Also making a Sideboard with Sewer Nemesis would give you an advantage in other type of Decks.Beside that, it looks great . And i would love you put a wager on a Mill vs Mill Battle. I think we both have a good chance, its all about what you'r gettin in your first hand.
Check my deck out, i made a Mill Deck with alot more Mill in it . Your deck seems alright , but im sure you could tweek it a bit to make it faster at milling .http://www.mtgvault.com/ely/decks/ultimate-mill-deck/
Im just wondering how can you win with this deck ? enlighten me please I see many things to make a shitload of mana , but nothing to give that " 1 turn kill "
I just recently came back to playing after a 10 year break , and this is by far one of the best deck i seen so far . It deffinitly something i would try to build . I got a few questions regarding it , Is this legal in Standard tournaments ? What about Jester's Cap for removing those pesky card that keeps going back into the library ? Keep me posted :)
That actually seems like a fun deck to play with . Plus with building on a Budget , this is really great. Good job !
