Deck Description

Now to explain. I play MtGO (Magic the Gathering Online) every once in a while but b/c I don't spend more that about 20 bucks a month (lol) I have to trade my rares for my commons and uncommons. So I kind of threw this deck together and it just plain worked really well all of the sudden. Ironically you end up with 3 to 4 creatures plus a big one like Hellspark Elemental and a pumper card (giant growth, etc,..) and/or a burn card (lightning bolt, etc,...) by about turn 4. I found that this pretty much ALWAYS happens this way one way or another. I then created a rare version in real life (b/c i have a huge collection and alone I spent 2k this past 2 months on cards including pre order of eldrazi), I will post the rare version later. Basically, this deck whoops a huge amount of butt. I make proxy top 8 decks and played this against them (standard tourny of course) and ironically I did incredibly well. A little over 50% win rate total, and only the really really good control decks have what it takes to stop my rampage. Well constructed vampire decks seem to be a 50/50 just b/c it's a matter of drawing well for that kind of deck.

The basis of the deck is simple, easily pump small creatures, burn here and there, and win by turn 5 or 6 or maybe as late as 7. I am gonna be honest if it goes past about turn 7 or 8 that is when you start getting in trouble. Control decks seem to do well if they counter well. The best part of Teetering peaks and Turntimber grove is THAT IT CAN'T BE COUNTERED!! So the tendency by turn 5 is that I have a couple creatures and something to unearth some pumps and some burn cards. Now the following combos are the most effective and they can all be combined for one big one. Note: The Hell's Thunder isn't cheap enough after it's first use to be effective but it is helpful later in the game if you get to about turn 6 or 7 and are running short on pump cards or burn cards.

Wild Nacatl + Lush Growth (sometimes a turn two 3/3)

Dragon Fodder + Goblin Bushwhacker (kicked) - that is 3 2/1 creatures by turn 3

HellSpark Elemental + play land (Teetering Peaks) + GroundSwell (Kicked) - great combo, they you get a 9/5 Trample that can't be targeted further by your enemy, then you might even be able to sneak something else on top of that.

Already in play creature + play lant (teetering peaks) + Searing Blaze - A unique combo, get a small a boost to a creature's attack value, then tackle any creature that might block for 3 and then tackle the player for 3 as well.

Already played Dragon Fodder + hellspark Elemental + Goblin Bushwhacker (kicked) - devastating, three 2/1 creatures and a 4/1 trample on maybe turn 4. can't really beat that. Even if you do this on turn 5 or 6 you can allways seering blaze, lightning bolt, or pump the hellspark elemental.

Lush Growth + any land = helps balance mana distribution. So you should really not worry about mana problems if you properly execute lush growth. If you have a Forest, Mountain, and Turntimber grove, then play the lush growth on turntimber grove and it will help a great deal in getting the right mana for the deck.

Anyway, you get the gist you always have the ability to do something fast. It is a very fast deck. It is a mostly common deck. Hell's Thunder is a little bit of a pricy rare but easy to trade for as most see it as useless. The only fallback is you may have to mulligan if you find yourself drawing too many non basic land b/c of the tapped element. I normally can mulligan to 4 or 5 cards and still effectively win as long as I can start with 1 mountain and 1 of any other land. In one game I was really lucky and basically I had all my burn cards and a hellspark elemental on like turn 5. I was completely losing, I brought out hellspark elemental, a teetering peaks, and two groundswells. I did 15 damage, and I just happened to lightning bolt him twice the previous turn. I was down to like 8 cards in my deck and 3 life. This deck can come out of nowhere at any point in the first 7 turns. I will post my rare version a little later. I havn't played it against the Top 8 yet so I am not sure how it will hold up. If you rate mine I WILL rate yours just include the link in you comment.

Good luck!!!
