I normally go for 7 or 8 cards that have a desired effect if it's a key component, so removing 2 or 3 for 1 Momentous Fall and 1 or 2 copies of Hunters Insight from M12. :)

You're right, lol. Pssh, looking at that, you don't even need to increase the number of Meliras, as you would have drawn her, or GSZ, by the time you'll be needing her. :P Out of curiosity, how much have Heartmender helped you in testing? It seems kinda slow, and i imagine the four spaces it uses would be really precious. o:
This is very nice, honestly. But, i must say, that I'm also a bit concerned about you not drawing Melira or GSZ when you need it. i theory, you should be able to have either of them at your thrird draw - you don't really need it in your opening hand. But theory hates everybody. >.> I'd put in one more Melira. Also, if you'd want to play lands each turn for five turns, 25 lands would statistically be best. It seems to work nicely nonetheless, but maybe this can give you a bit of inspiration. (:
Ah, snap. >.< By the way, aren't you going to miss out on mana for actually casting your cards, if you have to spend it on filling your graveyard, or have i misunderstood the idea behind the deck? :P
Ooh, this seems fun! If I'm understanding the idea correctly, wouldn't Thundering Wurm, Fallow Wurm and Metamorphic Wurm fit in nicely here? Also, would you mind having a look at my mono-red standard deck? http://www.mtgvault.com/ViewDeck.aspx?DeckID=203224
S1: Accorder Paladin. S2: Leatherback Baloth. S3: Garruk Wildspeaker. S4: Kiln Fiend. S5: Chancellor of the Tangle. A1: Karn, Silver Golem. A2: Light from Within. A3: Primalcrux. A4:Godhead of Awe. A5: Temporal Extortion.
Thanks a heap Ethan! I've made some changes, but I didn't put in Koth and Incinerate - is weighing the ability to play more spells in a turn, for Shrine and versatility in general over those cards a bad idea? And Brendan, i actually looked over Warren Instigator while making the deck, but it seems a bit too frail to spend two mana on, especially when i could use it on cards like Goblin Wardriver. :s
Was thinking, if Geosurge or Moltensteel Dragon don't have their place in this deck? I'm not really familiar with how Big Red is intended to work, but they seem natural to me, anyhow. Seems really fun to play nonetheless! Also, would you mind having a look at my Mono-red deck? You seem to have a nice grip at red decks. :P http://www.mtgvault.com/ViewDeck.aspx?DeckID=203224
You don't need to add new colours to use Grafted Exoskeleton, just remember that :)
I really like this - Lust for War seems to fit in quite nicely here, and i haven't been able to find that kind of deck myself... I have a suggestion though - you always have the possibility of splashing black for Phyresis - not Tainted strike, and/or throw in some infect-giving equipments, to make your Vent Sentinel even more dangerous :) Ogre Sentry is also a fine idea, in my opinion.
WhisperingMage: Thanks for the comment, but it's not really meant to be that competitive :P On another note, just being curious, will average matches continue for that long? I just find most decks cleaning up in turn 5-6 <.< portlandraised: I see your point, but i don't really like it costing 6 mana, as this was intended a weenie-ish deck.
I really like it :) I cannot quite see why Memnite is there, as you already have a very slim mana-curve. - Moriok Replica is a possible substitute :) Apart from that, i feel that Bloodghast fits in here perfectly, maybe instead of the Dark tutelages, they seem to make the life-loss a bit more unpredictable, not to mention how annoying it would be to have 2 life left, just for it to reveal a Phyrexian Rager >.<
Thanks for the comment, but i mostly just make decks i could play casual, and Goblin Guide is just that bit too costly <.< Anyway, i cut out reveberate and Fire servant for more Searing Blazes and more Burst Lightning. Thanks! :)
The Arbor Elf could as well be a Llanowar Elves, as they both do the same as Nature's Lore, but cost one less mana, and can be used as a small amount of extra damage, in a pinch. The only downside i personally see is that Doom Blade costs just about half the amount of mana average land-destruction cards cost, but that'll be up to you.
Looks very nice :) But, you might have a problem fetching the cards you want, and since you're also using blue, you might as well toss in a Tezzeret the Seeker or two. Mighty Leap or Angelic Blessing could also fit in nicely here :)
At a first glance, i must say that this deck looks awesome :P But, being a big fan of mana-ramping, i need to say that i think you should cut out all the Nature's Lores, and replace them with Arbor Elves, because of your current mana-curve. :)
I made it green on purpose, as it would be very hard using any of the cards like Overbeing of Myth and Deus of Calamity, except for Oversoul of Dusk, if i were to throw in white. :S Anyway, thanks for the feedback, i'll go check one of your decks. ^_^
Really nice idea you've got there :) But, you might want to cut Wolf pack for some Llanowar Elves so you actually have anything for Wren's Run Packmaster to champion, and to smooth your mana-curve. Rot wolf seems a bit misplaced, having infect and all.
Hmm, nice idea. I never really got much into M11, as i only recently started playing again <.< Anyway, thanks!
