Deck Description

I started playing last week and so far like white and green so I decided to try and make a deck just to play with friends. I used green that use a lot of mana to put some defensive cards in play as well as have trample and some hex proof cards in my deck and I used white cards as a way to get cheaper and more disposable cards in play while using their flying as a main way to attack. Enchantments, sorcery, and instants to destroy other creatures and add flying to some green cards and maybe keep them away from danger if possible.

How to Play

Just wanted to play casually and wanted some help with making a deck. I'm learning by myself through YouTube so I don't know too much. I wanted to use expensive mana greens as my defense and be able to take a lot of damage while my less expensive whites which are heavy flyers are used mainly as offense.

Deck discussion for My first deck

For starters you are allowed to use up to 4 cards in a deck. Honestly, each deck needs a theme to it. For white, it usually is smaller creatures that are cheaper. White is also a solid life gain style, and yes it even does have some more powerful creatures like angels. The deck you have is all over the place. Pick a theme and stick to it. For example if you like bigger angels, thats cool. Have some powerful angels, and if you want to splash green, use greens mana ramping abilities to get your angels out quicker. A mistake beginners make is they see all these cool cards and mechanics and want to include them all into their decks. What happens is a deck with cool cards that don't really work together. Simply put, stick to a few basic concepts and build your entire deck around that.

Also, you only have 3 ways to get rid of the opponents threats in this deck. You need more, I like at the very least 6 ways, if not a few more. Northern warlord on this site has been making great decks for years on this site, and all of his decks pick a concept, and run with it, check them out. Another really cool site is MTG the gatherer. It allows you to search for cards that can help your deck. For example you want a 2/2 white flyer that costs one mana? Check the gatherer and it will give you all he cards that fit your billing. Hope this helps

Thanks! Really anything helps so I appreciate not ripping into me like I kind of expected to happen.

Of course! Also, one more thing. Lands really should be around 20-24. 27 is a but much. Your decks mana curve could probably get away with 20-22, which would open up some slots for you as well.

A good balance for land is "1 land for every 2 other cards you have".
