Deck discussion for Tempo Vat

looks pretty awsome. i think 2+ masticores would be better though, even if they are hard to get ahold of. its incredibly powerful, and mimic vat just makes it insane.

Hmm. Well, honestly it seems a little pathetic with the vat because you need at least 7 mana for it to really take advantage of it. I just have 1 for now because I'd like to just test it. If it turns out to be that good, I'll look at adding more.

Abyssal persecutor is amazing with the vat and can get bounced by ur aether adept or Jace. Not so sure about the scroll thiefs, if you want to draw an extra card each turn, just use a small jace. Maybe trinket mage to fetch an everfowing chalice or a voltaic key. If you can get those two down with a mimic vat, it's game over. All in all, a cool deck.

Yeah, the scroll thief is highly questionable right now. I forsee it being either really good or just terrible. I figured I'd run 3 to give it a try at least. It seems to have potential. I decided against the Trinket engine because it takes up too many slots and hardly seemed worthwhile to be honest. Voltaic key still require 7 mana to make the most out of the Vat which seems like a lot... Small Jace doesn't block, doesn't deal damage, and costs double blue. If I could play more Mind Sculptor I would but not baby Jace I think. Not in this deck anyways. As far as persecutor goes, I love the card but having 1 adept and 1 jace in the entire deck being my only true outs, it seems a bit silly to add it. I really considered it, however in creating the deck. It may be a lot better in a mono black build, running gatekeepers and such instead I think.

If you guys have any other suggestions, even for the sideboard, I would really appreciate it. Thanks for what you've given so far, though.

I would have swaped Nantuco Shade for Royal Asassin. Nantuco is much better in a plain swamp deck! And Royal Asassin is scary.. But you have many innteresting cards in this deck.
What do you think aboute my Vampire rush deck?

Interesting. I considered the Assassin actually, but it was another 3-drop and I felt like I already had enough of those. It is actually pretty surprisingly easy to drop the shade on turn two and the deck, due to the mana dual lands, can really pretty easily play out as if it were mono black or mono blue even. Plus, I was thinking about adding more Nantuko's because they help apply a lot of early game pressure. Any other ideas?

Updated again for liliana's specter with the vat. Also, changed the sideboard a lot as well. Let me know what you think.

I like this deck man, very solid. Only thing i can think of is maybe running 4 Halimar Depths instead of the Islands to increase the deck manipulation.
Plus if i were to run the deck i'd use more nighthawks, only because with the Mimic Vat you can attack every turn and you're guaranteed 2 life and possibly killing another one of their creatures. But again, that's just what i'd do. I do like the Specter idea though!
