Deck Description

Working on my Sanguine Bond / Blood Tribute Deck. Open to suggestions...

Basically using creature removal/destruction/denial to keep the board clear while I hold out for the sanguine bond, blood tribute, vampire kicker combo.

Perfect Hand for a 4 turn win:
Turn 1 - Swamp
Turn 2 - Swamp, Child of Night
Turn 3 - Swamp, Dark Ritual, Sanguine Bond
Turn 4 - Swamp, Dark Ritual, Blood Tribute (Kicked with Child of Night)
WIN!

I've updated this deck to a newer version, feedback welcome (bought some new cards)!

Deck discussion for 4 Turn WIN Sanguine Tribute Vampire

Run either Doom Blade or Go for the Throat over Terror. Could even run Vendetta

Good call, Doom Blade might be the best option given all the artifacts in the new sets.

My thoughts as well.. People tend to enjoy Go for the Throat more, but I think Doom Blade is a better main board option.

eh, not good enough. last gasp had it's time, but those cards arent really a catch all. disfigure is good for cheap removal, but it's SB at best

I found an Ascendant Evincar in a 10th booster today, debating if it's a good addition... kind of costly, but supports the deck well.

Ah... I see what you're doing here! I think you should run more creatures though in case of removal.

I was thinking about tossing in a Sengir Vampire just for nostalgia. :)

Nice combo. How about 2-3 tutoring spells to increase your chances of getting Sanguine Bond and Blood Tribute on your hand? Diabolic Tutor (a bit high mana cost, I guess) or Demonic Tutor (a bit expen$ive, but so good).

Tutors would be nice - but what to remove?

You need Sorin Markov, hes great for this kind of deck.

Oh yeh definately, but at $10 each... it's a bit pricey. I did open some Zendikar packs hopefully.. but no Sorin. :(

Shopping for them now - going to replace Corrupt with 2 Sorins. :)

tendrils of corruption?

Tendrils is cool, but it's limited to creatures only, rather be able to choose the target (player, planeswalker or creature). I think the deck is fairly solid on creature removal.

This is a nice deck and pretty similar to mine except I'm running a few more vampires and Basilisk Collar+Bloodghast is working out well. Take a look at mine if you like.

The only real suggestion I can make is to replace Corrupt with Consume Spirit. Its more flexible and is better in the early game. What if your opponent was has 2 life left and you only have 5 swamps in play? With Consume spirit 4 mana ends the game (3 mana with sanguin bond) but Corrupt will be a dead card without the other swamp or a dark ritual and even then it will be over kill.

Either way congrats on a nice vampire deck.

Well, I think a good card that is just plain underplayed is Suffer the Past.
It is XB, target player exiles X cards from their graveyard, then loses 1 life for each card removed this way, and you gain 1 life for each card removed this way. It's an uncommon, and around .35-.25 dollars.

the problem with that compared to cards like exsanguinate is that it's limited by the amount of cards in your opponents graveyard

I would switch out corrupt for gatekeeper of malakir.

I agree, I may put one in there, but the mana curve for this deck is alread pretty high. I was hopping to maybe bring the ang mana cost down some.
