Who said zombie decks were dead in Standard? The whole point of this game is to manifest and overwhelm with zombies. They do a very good job of that since most can be fed to one another and/or brought back to the player's hand AND created from destroying the opponent's creatures. That's not even counting the unbridled threat that an early Liliana poses. I have playtested this deck against hardcore Standard Tournament decks and it's currently 5-1. The only loss was due to mana shortage (2 lands the whole game) and even then I lasted over 30 minutes and got the opponent down to 7 life. The creature removal/direct damage is its answer to aggro decks since it is mono-black and doesn't have much to contend with against blue countering or flying creatures. It's just so cheap to cast (nothing is over 3 mana to cast) and quick that it will be hard pressed to not keep up with almost any aggro deck out there. I've been toying with the idea of replacing the Scourges with Mimics so I have them sideboarded. Let me know your thoughts!
It's pretty straightforward. Pound the heck out of your opponent with the cheap, growing and versatile zombies.

Hmmm...I really like what you're doing here. I would hate to play against this deck as it seems like the zombies would be coming out of everywhere. My only concern is how it would do against flight (as you mention) and planeswalkers. Countering and direct damage isn't too much of a worry since you can keep returning zombies and/or manufacturing them. If I might make a suggestion; I would remove the rats, add 2 more Shamble Back's and find a way to add 4 Ruinous Paths. That will allow you contend with planeswalkers (which show up in every tournament deck) and kill enough of the opponents creatures to stay ahead. The Shamble Back will also allow you to make zombies out of their dead creatures. MEAT has the potential to be a deadly contender!

Thanks for the comment Acer. You definitely make an intriguing point regarding the Shamble Back. I'm going to add 2x more to the sideboard and also sideboard Ruinous Path. I had wanted to add that card prior to my last tournament and wasn't able to get them in time.
