With my friends, we play a variant of Commander.
DECK CONSTRUCTION:
- 60 cards, Modern legal.
- Singleton, except for basic lands.
- 2 commanders: one planeswalker (transform cards work), one legendary creature (flip cards work).
- Commander identity is defined by both commanders. Devoid cards have colorless identity, lands have no identity.
BANLIST
- Normal Modern banlist.
- Define your own banlist otherwise, I suggest avoiding colour hosers and other common sideboard cards which hate on specific strategies (as this is singleton without sideboard).
GAME RULES:
- Infect => Whither.
- Fear, Intimidate, Landwalk, Shadow => Menace.
- Protection from one colour => cannot be [choose one: damaged, enchanted, blocked, targeted] by coloured sources.
- 30 life 1v1, 50 life 2v2, 60 life 3v3.
- Specific life values on cards are based on the starting life total.
- Mill in Two-Headed Giants: you have to mill both libraries to win, or to mill one library and reduce your opponents to half their starting life total or below.
- Mulligan : Draw 12 cards, choose 7 of them as your starting hand, then shuffle the rest in your library.
- Landscry : At the beginning of your draw step, before drawing a card, you may look at the top 6 cards of your library. If you do, you may reveal a basic land card from among them, put it on top of your library then put the rest on the bottom of your library. Then each opponent may scry 1. In 2HG, if both active players choose to landscry, each opponent may scry 2 instead.
COMMANDERS:
- Both commanders start in the command zone, and cannot be played from there.
- At sorcery speed, as a special action which does not use the stack, you may:
... pay 1 mana to put your commander from the command zone to your hand.
... pay 2 mana to put your commander from the graveyard to the command zone.
... pay 3 mana to put your commander from exile or from a library to the command zone, shuffle if relevant.
