You could probably utilize Mutagenic growth in this deck. it allows a small pump but basically for free! i like the idea alot though! There is a reason they havent brought berserk back nor would they anytime soon! great card and great deck!
I really like the infiltration lens idea i've been playtesting some other stuff like grim lavamancer/spikeshot and i'm not sure what i want to go with. i'll just have to try new ideas. thanks for the help!
if it's EDH, then wouldn't Circu's third ability be useless?
I have Gaea's Revenge? Not only can it not be countered but it also has haste and it can't be killed by a non-green spell
Thanks! ya i'll trade ya for sure! the reason for the gut shot was in case i pop out a last minute furyborn an have no mana to burn. with so much control in the meta it's hard to keep crap on the field to be able to attack so i thought it would be a nice back up idea. i'm not updated much on the current RDW or Big Red set ups so any more suggestions would be great! i want this to be fast but i don't want it to burn out like alot of red decks seem to do if not built right or piloted correctly.
I like the concept alot! i'm currently playing a U/W control as well but it works a little differently than yours. over all I really like the idea you have here! I'm only seeing a few problems. which you actually mentioned in the deck bio already. The rhino guy is great but 4 of is unnecessary imo. He seems pretty useless against other control decks, obviously SB but maybe i just don't see his potential like you do. also you probably want to switch over to the O-ring. JtN was a great filler but O-ring is back and with a meta with some many artifacts and non-creature permanents it's too helpful to no run. something i started using in my U/W build is Gitaxian Probe. i use alot more counters than you do so it's a little more helpful but it's really nice when you don't have to pay mana to see their hand. allows you set up better for whats coming. just adding my 2 cents. i'll help you out as well by liking every comment so far(jumps your numbers lol) thanks for the help! and if you want to check out my U/W deck. any suggestions with that would be helpful too! thanks! http://www.mtgvault.com/EditDeck.aspx?DeckID=201052&DeckCardID=4668914
I like this. it's simple and fast! 4 Goblin Guides are probably a smart idea. maybe even over spikeshot elder, since you have nothing to buff with other than teetering peaks but I like it as is too.
another recommendation is Consecrated Sphinx. i'm not using one cuz they're expensive and i like Baneslayer Angel but it might help your deck.
Add more Venser, i use Venser with the Blade Splicer and it's fun! Swing with the golem, usually they take it just to avoid the creature dying, exile the splicer and wrath the field and you're set to block. how does the Elesh Norn do? i havent seen one in play before so i'm just curious how well it does. I Reccomend 4 Wall of Omens. they're fun with venser too!
Revoke existence is a great counter for Tempered steel! I like the Torpor Orb idea too. not sure how i feel about Kor Firewalker. I have Leyline of Sanctity i think that should help quite a bit but i'm having a hard time fitting the firewalker in. does it help more than the leyline?
looks like it took you quite some time to build! you can change the amount of copies per card in your deck builder deal. FYI looks good though! i'd drop the terra stompers and add cultivate

i'm not sure if you're aware of this or not but Etched Champion isn't safe from Doj. Protection means they're safe from dmg.,being blocked, and being targeted. Doj doesn't do any of those. Emrakul and Progenitus are both Doj range.

I don't mean to give the same suggestions but i will try and help you out. i drew a sample hand and got 3 praetors and 1 land. i'd drop the praetors imo. instead add walls. wall of tanglecord is an artifact wall for 2 0/6 too. that way you don't have to drop the lands you want to play. i agree with the Wall of Omens! that would do wonders for this deck, same with Overgrown Battlement. as far as the 2-3 colors play the ones you want but make sure it fits around those colors strong points. if you're splashing blue just for a couple counterspells you may want to switch it to another color or take it out. If you're determined to keep blue run Dispels. it's the counter to counterspells. if i were playing against this deck i'd save my mana leaks for karn so dispel would nullify that. what also might help for ramp is eldrazi spawns. Nest invader, Kozilek's predator, growth spasm. those give you a body AND extra mana. for Karn anything Edlrazi will be extremely helpful! also look into adding maybe an Edlrazi for Karn to go Ultimate on. Hopefully this helps! i'm sorry if i'm changing more of your deck than you would like but those are my suggestions, do with them what you want! Good luck man! you get a "like" from me! ;)
yes! you also need a way to deal with atifact/ enchantments. right now U/R Ascension/Pyro Twin is raping standard so you would need a way to get rid of the PA. you can deal with splinter twin easily with doom blade and what not, but black doesn't really have a viable "destroy target artifact/ enchantment" so since you're already splashing white you may want to look into Solemn offering as a potential SB card.

well considering what you're playing against it MIGHT help to have 4 but it always depends on the situation. you're not running a lot of Mana. 22 is fine but if you hit a "famine" of mana and have 2+ in your hand you have a problem! i'd keep it at 3. also i'd switch the IoK to Duress. you can take out more things imo.
