This mono-red Myr deck has nearly exponential mana acceleration, topping out at infinite mana. This is used toward Fueling some enormous Fireballs, or putting many Myr Propagator tokens into play. It is a standard format deck (all cards are from M11 and Scars of Mirrodin) and I find it to be rather versatile and fun to play.

You can get infinite mana and creatures using mana echoes and myr matrix. Throw in coat of arms, and you get 9 trillion/9 trillion myrs, and/or a hefty fireball for 999999999 damage.

Since I'm going for standard format though, Mana echoes and Myr Matrix are out (as far as i know) Coat of arms, now there's a thought. Is it still in Standard? And Prototype Portal+Galvanizer works rather well.
Whats the infinite combo?
2x Myr Galvanizers and 1x Palladium myr = infinite mana

Ahh shit I didn't read the standard part. My bad. And unfortunately no, Coat of Arms rotated out with Magic 2010. But yeah, you have a good combo going on there.
@nightangel: If I have two Myr Galvanizers out, along with enough Myr to make two mana (either Palladium, or two Iron, I can make two mana, spend one of it to have one of my galvanizers untap all my myr, then tap my myr for mana, then have my second Galvanizer tap to untap all my myr, (Including the first Galvanizer) so I can make as much mana as I want to feed Fireball, or my propogators (which would also be untapped with Galvanizers) and thanks, vspartan
You can ALSO use the same combo to so infinite damage with Battlesphere.
@staggothi Or by using Heavy Arbalest
sorry, Idk why it keeps reposting what I say when I refresh, my bad
Maybe Mox Opal or the new red-rit would speed it up, but Opals are expensive, and I don't know if the red-rit would actually help given it's only an increase of one mana on turn two... Other than that, looks like a fun deck.
red rit? Maybe I'm not understanding that abbreviation?
Sorry, Red Ritual (Pyretic, was it?). I'm used to using the abbreviation referring to anything that produces more mana than it costs...
Ok, thanks. Now I know what you mean. Much like Dark Ritual and Brightstone Ritual back in the day.
The only problem is everyone that does constructed knows about the T2 infinite mana/myr combo. the only problem is if someone re-directs the fireball, or comet storm...etc. if you based this off of Myr propagator instead, infinite creatures pack an unstoppable punch.
Perhaps, but 1 Blunt the Assault stops that, and if you specify that you have infinite creatures, you just gave your opponent infinite life.
Which is why both options are present in this deck; you can choose your method of murder based on who you're playing. If you're playing against blue, expect a Redirect and go for infinite Propagators. Playing against green, slap them upside the head with Fireball.

it runs well doing either huge fireballs, or mass propagator tokens, actually. And Prototype portal makes it even easier to put two Galvanizers(or more) into play.
The other thing I meant to say there was that I haven't run into any redirect spells that work against spells with multiple targets, so I could just split my fireball. (in fact, I've used it as a board wipe in a multi-player match before, then followed up with about 60 Propagator tokens)
One thing I am looking into is some way for me to give my Myr haste, so they can make their mana or use their abilities the turn they get played.
Try Reckless Charge. It's a sorcery for R, target creature gets +3/+0 and haste until end of turn. Nice deck idea, by the way.
Oh, I was looking through some other cards, and I'm thinking on the sideboard, that I'm going to go -2 Argentum Armor, -3 Perilous Myr, +2 All is Dust, and +3 Elixir of Immortality. good call?
Haha, this is almost exactly the same as my Myr deck! http://www.mtgvault.com/ViewDeck.aspx?DeckID=130386 You should check out SPLINTER TWIN!! You only need one Galvanizer for the infinite combo if you have Splinter Twin... Super helpful card. And if you already have 2 Galvanizers out, you can put it on a Myr Battlesphere and get 4 tokens every time you make a copy.
I second the splnter twin addition. That card is essential to the myr galvanizer combo.
I totally agree!! Adding Splinter Twin is a must, myr galvanizer can be multiplied to infinite as a blocker or attacker with the help of Palladium myr of course. But once Memoricide is played, GG for you.
I dont mean to be the one to blow this out of the water, but shatter, demolish, and hoard-smelter dragon (to name a few) would cut down this deck pretty quick. I love the combo though, and Im going to see about putting this deck together to see what my friends think of it. Credits to you of course! Very well put together, and the theory is spot on. Maybe you can throw a couple ideas towards the burn deck that Im working on? >> http://www.mtgvault.com/ViewDeck.aspx?DeckID=135904 << Im also working on making a G/R or G/U deck just for giggles. I'll post that link up when I finish it. Again, best of luck!
you are correct that destroy artifacts spells would hurt this deck, but myr resevoir just brings the myrs right back. I have a white myr artifact deck and have had people blow up an artifact and I just bring it right back every time. Here's my deck. http://www.mtgvault.com/ViewDeck.aspx?DeckID=132192
I am inclined to agree with Nightmist, I tried playing with the Myr infinite combo but it's just too slow. A good creature kill weenie deck would tear you a new one. Also Resevoir brings it back to your hand and then you need to recast next turn assuming it was killed early game.
Also among the uses for this could be: Tower of Calamities Voltaic Key Lux Cannon Any proliferate engine (Throne of Geth, Contagion Clasp/Engine, etc.) Comet Strike
Hmm, if no one has suggested it, I highly recommend Splinter Twin. It'll act as as a better Myr Galvanizer, also allowing you to create infinite Galvanizers in the same combo.
needs kudulthda phoenix.
2 x myr galvanisers and a palladium myr for infinate mana ... Cheeky im not sure about infinate combos but here's one you may like ... Have out a prodigal scorcerer the play a time warp for another turn but put an imprint on it for infinate turns and keep shootin for 1 Ha now thats windin someone up !!!!! You should also check my vampire deck im lovin vampire hexmage with / Dark depths not infinate but i get moaned at all the time about it ha
you should add and eldrazi temple in there, with myr propogators they can be a great asset.
well i have a deck that does the same exact thing but with splinter twin with the new rules you cant actually make infinite mana you have to specify how much you want to make then you have that much... this was inacted to prevent people from saying "i make mana untill you forfit" that being said you cant cause infinite dammage with battlesphere but untapping while it attacks good thought though. splinter twin would help this deck in my oppinion and i never really liked the myr that makes copys of its self because you can already do that with galvanizer and splinter twin ether way its a fun deck play around and find what you think works best. i find red blue for board control untill i can pull off the combo works best for me ^^
What's the new rule that limits infinite Production? Also, with prototype portal can you replicate artifact Lannds?
Also, why don't you just say you make a googgleplex mana every Turn? (for those who don't know what a googleplex is, its a 1 followed by a google zeros, and a google is a one followed by a 100 zeros)

Just a recommendation but perhaps putting a few whispersilk cloaks along with an indomitable archangel (all artifacts have shroud?, equip with whispersilk cloak.) would help you out a lot and keep your prototype portal from getting nuked.
This deck is built around mono-red. Splashing white just for the Archangel would throw the whole deck out of balance and ultimately leave it awkward and clunky.
forget prototype portal, you would lose two cards to any artifact killer, try this instead :) Kuldotha Forgemaster + Nim Deathmantle You can sacrifice anything and get right back into play... yes with the battlespheres it would give you even more tokens. I use Precursor Golems with that as well. And once you have a forgemaster out you can look for any artifact so a wurmcoil engine is in, platinum emperion, platinum angel, contagion engine. Whatever effect you need find the artifact that matches up with it.
So I made an upgrade of the deck where I added Splinter Twin, Urabrask, and swapped my Fireballs for Comet Storm. I'll post the link shortly.
Here we go. http://www.mtgvault.com/ViewDeck.aspx?DeckID=218779
