Deck Description

Do damage and get mana? Yes please!

How to Play

Fling damage around like it's going out of style and profit with insane mana production courtesy of Neheb!

Best fun play? Tapping Heartless Hidetsugu and using the resulting life loss to fuel a massive Comet Storm.

Deck discussion for Neheb, the Eternal EDH

Doesn't the new "Legendary Planeswalker" rule allow you to have multiple Chandra out? I ask because you're not using my favourite Chandra: Chandra, Flamecaller ;p

Also, you only have 2 {X} mana spells? I thought they'd be top priority for Neheb's postcombat ability.

YEP! The rule is now if they have the same name, not just the same type.

Which means "Oops, All Gideons!" can be an actual deck now. Now I want to make an all Chandra deck...

Yes, the new rule allows multiple PW out at once, but I'm not using Flamecaller because she didn't really fit the deck to me. As for the X spells, I had a few more in here, but ultimately I will rarely produce enough to use many of them effectively.

I've been testing the deck out on Cockatrice and made a few revisions already, and so far the bonus mana has been nice, but I'm doing more damage without the X spells than I did with them. Comet Storm is the obvious exception here because if I can get enough mana for it, it becomes hilariously deadly.

That said, the deck suffers from running dry once Neheb does come out, and I've also had a higher number of games than I'd like where I wasn't getting that fifth mana to cast him at all. That's another thing I need to look at fixing.

You know what? A good card for this deck would be Curse of Bloodletting. I know it won't work with your commander's Afflict ability, but with all of the damage spells, it could be really nasty.

Yeah but curse only hurts one person. Furnace of Rath and Dictate of the Twin Gods obviously help everyone, but they help me a lot more. Fire servant and Insult are completely one-sided in my favor, so they're clearly superior here.

I missed both of them, but I was also thinking about a more permanent solution. Fire Servant is good if you can keep it alive, and Insult // Injury only last a turn, unless they're countered.

Making someone waste a kill on servant when there are other more dangerous options on the board is perfectly fine with me, and counter magic isn't all that prevalent in my group since we play pretty casual.
