this deck is... well... interesting?

try adding dryad arbor, exploration, and some land tutors. I think 28~30 lands are enough. Enjoyed the idea!

exploration are around 20 each, but dryad are reasonable, maybe cultivates or sky shroud calms then

This decks looks SWEET! I am going to proxy this when a friend and myself start building Modern/Legacy decks. Great work!

Nice deck!
I would run a few more land tutors:
Cultivate is a favourite, Search for tomorrow isn't bad either.

I love your deck, but I think it would be fun if you could somehow work in Nature's Will, Liege of the Tangle (overkill), and Rites of Flourishing to speed up your game and thin out your deck quicker

well actually get rid of the guards and add more forests i would say

0
Posted 20 November 2013 at 02:50

Yes, get rid of the gaurds. MORE LANDS! Actually, for lands you might want to consider misty rainforest or verdant catacombs, but that would detracting from your budget aspect of this deck, but would be another great way to pull out lands quickly and thin your deck quicker and make your deck run smoother i think.

Also terramorphic expanse and evolving winds are great add-ons

I agree with some of the other people. Take out 4 lands and add in 4 copies of a creature that can add mana to your mana pool. Weakness with this deck is that you are tapping all of your lands to cast the spells. If all of your lands are tapped...that leaves nothing to attack/block with (unless you have 5 mana available and Rude Awakening in your hand).

Use the creature to tap for mana and use your untapped Land as a creature.

Looks like fun. I like it!
I suggest adding Khalni Heart Expedition, it simply gets lands out faster.

So awesome!

Would it help to add a double draw card like Howling Mine? That's kinda cheap.

1
Posted 19 November 2013 at 12:28

I was sorta thinking Howling Mine too. Lets you draw two cards every turn ensuring you get a land every drop.

Thanks for the help everyone !

0

i realy like the idea of the deck but there is one problem. when you play a land every turn and hold some cards back you have 50% chance to draw another land. that will kill yourself. unless you have some card draw. that is why i dont like summer bloom. it will help you one time to play a few more lands but after that it is an enchantment that does nothing.

use harmonize or citanul woodreaders. sollid card draw.

0

agreed. add 4x explore and take out the cartographers.

Life and limb is must! Staff arbor would also be helpful

0

here is actually a bunch of cards that are really good for a deck like this (beware mixing sporemound and life and limb as they create an infinite loop with no end (unless you find a way to destroy one of them) and then the game would end in a draw)

Awakener Druid
Sakura-Tribe Scout
Kamahl, Fist of Krosa
Molimo, Maro-Sorcerer
Oracle of Mul Daya
Quirion Druid
Sporemound
Thelonite Druid
Bear Umbra
Genju of the Cedars
Greener Pastures
Nature's Revolt
Nature's Will
Vastwood Zendikon
Animate Land
Sprout Swarm
Nature's Spiral
Verdant Touch

any of the above would be good but I HIGHLY suggest
4x Life and Limb
4x Gaea's Touch
2-4x Ordeal of Nylea
2-4x Budoka Gardener
2-4x One with Nature
2x Living Terrain
1-2 Liege of the Tangle
1-2x Primeval bounty ( I'm not sure but i think that with Life and Limb out that putting out a land would activate both the creature trigger and the land trigger)

Kamahl, Fist of Krosa is good to have

Agree. The first version was 3 colors that was very balanced. The deck is all over the place now. Still, it is on the front page. None of my decks have done that. So, good job on that.

I was trying to find a defesive creature while i do the deck, should grove of the guardian be put in ? Thats why the artifact was put in and with all the land i thought leige of tangle but whats your thought thales120 and Jessie

0

Dragon77, there are much better Magic players that can give you ideas than I can. Personally, I simply liked the balance of the three colors in your first deck. And the Groundskeeper too.

0

Regardless, I think the deck shows more promise and talent than most of the decks I build. Good job!

Thanks, i had a splash of white at one point but it always green

0

With Earth Surge and your animate lands creating 2/2 creatures (also with getting buffs) it may be better playing Overwhelming Stampede over Overrun (but only if you can almost ensure that the creatures will be at least 3/3 (better if they are more)

0

Remove guardians of meletis and add thallid shell-dweller. a little weaker but less mana cost and it makes little saprolings. Win/Win

Thanks, added a couple wall of brambles i think i have a couple wall of brambles around , if not saw cudgel troll

0

Wall of Brambles is not Modern Legal. Wolfir Avenger or Thrun would be fine imo, or Troll Ascetic.

0
Posted 20 November 2013 at 14:35

its a budget land casual , so wall of brambles works good, but thanks neoxtreem

0

I know, but it would be fun seeing how well this would compete against other modern decks. Just wanted to point out, it only depends on this one card to change its legality :)

0

Summer bloom and three or four land in opening hand , lol, brambles would be a side card if i did modern, even cudgel troll works

0

I don't know what three to take out, i may just play with the 63..lol

0

Take out one land and the two windstorms. not every one plays with flying. you can always sideboard the in if you want.

also check out my new control deck. still working on it.

There are a gazillion better options out for both Wall of Brambles and Fog, even when you are on a budget!

Fog:
My personal favourites are Spore Cloud and Respite but I think in this deck you should go with CONSTANT MISTS! Seriously.

Wall of Brambles:
Wall of Blossoms is cheaper and replaces itself.
Wall of Roots or Overgrown Battlement both help you out keeping you alive and provide mana at the same time.
Wolfir Avanger has better stats, has flash and can actually attack.
But given the fact that you are about to drop so many lands you could also consider Grazing Gladeheart, that should also be able to keep you alive.

Maybe replace 4 of the Forests with Treetop Village.

Consider a splash of white for Planar Birth and/or Sacred Ground and/or Terra Eternal.

0

Oh and I think the Wall of Brambles is the only card that keeps this deck from being Modern legal, so it has definately to go!

0

Its just casual , not meant for modern, but in a flash it can be !

0

do you need more than?

0
Posted 22 November 2013 at 09:40

They are very expensive, you don't want to draw them in your opening hand.

0
Posted 22 November 2013 at 09:53

leige is a later game card , so getting two or three in the first few turns could slow the deck down

0
Posted 22 November 2013 at 20:10

To be fair if Rude Awakening is going to be used to its fullest you're paying the same thing to make your lands 2/2s for 1 turn when you could be making them 8/8s that last more than one turn. And there are 3 Rude Awakenings and 2 Liegeā€¦

0

it is cheap, strong, fast and easily available... i like it !

0

thanks , took out a overrun and the two search for tomorrow, so its sixty cards ! Maybe switch a summer bloom for a explore

0

Only way to tell how your deck flies is to test it! Can't just take all our advices without playtesting.

That said, I might consider a Bear Umbra or two? It protects the attached creature from destruction and also untaps all lands when it attacks. If your lands are your creatures, then they all have vigilance.

0
Posted 24 November 2013 at 01:58

You could also consider taking this towards an elf ramp tribal + tree deck.

I used to run a strong variation with Ambush Commander, which permanently makes all your Forests 1/1 elves for 5. They're usually much larger because of all the lord pump in elf tribal. It's just a tad dangerous if you're facing anyone with board wipes because you loose your land as well. However, you'd have your walking trees much sooner than with Liege.

don't know if someone mentioned Primeval titan - 6 mana and 2 Lands when on Battlefield and 2 lands with every attack - might fit here

0

thats a good idea, completely agree with you. and it help thin out your deck!

0

I was trying to keep the cost down, the titan is good , Great idea ! If someone had a little more money

0

Tangle is much better than fog. for only one more mana it locks them down for a extra turn. with the amount of mana you have you should be fine for 2 cmc vs 1 cmc

maybe hurricane instead of windstorm? because that provides an alternate win condition for you, especially since you have a lot of land in this deck. (hurricane does x damage to each player as well).

just something to ponder.
cheers!
