The owner of this deck hasn't added a sideboard, they probably should...
Start typing a card name and use the auto-complete feature to quickly select the card you're trying to add. Enter a quantity and add that card to your sideboard!
Submit a list of cards below to bulk import them all into your sideboard. Post one card per line using a format like "4x Birds of Paradise" or "1 Blaze", you can even enter just the card name by itself like "Wrath of God" for single cards.
So after being absent from the site for a little while ive come back and found my discussion on the main page. And all of your guy's and gal's feedback was really heartwarming and amazing. And all of your ideas to help and grow the Vault are amazing and awesome. Although MTGVault may have seemed "dead". You have proved that it is not. That there is still people who care greatly about this site and its resources it provides. For new and returning players alike. Do not be shy to check out others decks and like and comment( with positive feedback, or positive things in general ) Because community is what really make us magic players better.
go out and explore other peoples decks and give back to the community so it may flourish.

Ever since I saw your first post I've been trying to comment and like more decks man.But I got annoyed since people kept on just commenting on your original post because they could've been commenting on other decks such as suggestions or discussion. Either way I think you've really put the problem in the spotlight rather they already knew it or not.

yes while that is true, it does help the topic grow. Even northy commented on the post.
Not true, it spawned a few posts in other deck threads as well. And if this and the other "deck" hog up the Hot Page, Vaulters will be forced to look somewhere else for decks, which isn't bad ;)
Liked, to help get this to the front page too.
I actually went on your profile to look at your decks and I saw this and I would like you to know I like what your doin, keep that shit up.
thank you fury, it really means a lot. whatever i can do to help.
Nicely done DracoStorm, keeping the community alive is indeed very helpful.
Anyone else notice that since these posts got to the front page that there's been an increase in the number of people actually tagging their work and / or using the deck description / how to play sections? Or am I just imagining things?
Also an increase in likes or comments in new decks

Yes i have seen other decks getting liked and commented on, as well as mine even! And I have contributed to that as well.
The hope I have is that people will start leaving thought out feedback, or just feedback. I know sometimes I havent but that is when I come accross a deck that seems to be abandoned by the community but the OP is just staring at the deck waiting for a comment. Ive been a user for 6 years and this is what I find to be the most useful!People: Ask questions, Leave suggestions, Do something that makes it look like you thought about the deck.
I always do that but the only way to get comments is to directly ask others for it. Found that out the hard way. Which is why I always offer advice in advance. You can call me out any time if you need advice on any of your decks as long as there is something to work with (and I am not into standard)
Grove of the Guardian? May I suggest one of the following as the titular/thumbnail card of this "deck"? :- Rebuild- Knowledge Vault- Disciple of the Vault- Revive- Reconstruct- Call to Glory
i generally stick with lands for cover arts if i can, they usually tend to be prettier and don't have a color indicator at the top.
Not sure if this is the right place but it feels like there needs to be a better system to promote new decks, I can't really think of the changes that need to be made but it seems like the new decks tab is just an endless wheel and to be honest having so many decks made kinda leads to a lack of conversation and ongoing community. A few. Things that might help1 - More than 4 tags, maybe 8, with the mandatory tag of format, casual vs competitive, finished deck vs seeking advice2 - As well as more tags, a more refined new decks section, sub sections for standard, modern, legacy and subs sections for casual, competitive, and trying to get competitive3 - If the deck is going to be public then there needs to be options that are identified, such as legal formats of the deck, if it's casual or competitive, if it's budget.... Maybe next to the name the estimated costs should be shown, and maybe if it's a deck that's after feedback... Someone trying to make it competitive4 - A reward system for starting/contributing to conversations... Maybe a voting system like yahoo answers, where people can give appreciation to good comments, I know we have something like that now but it's obviously needs more emphasis, I use to play path of exile and one of the things they did in the forums was give badges and profile rewards to those who supported various projects, again not sure. Someone more creative can think of something better5 - Maybe a new way to outline deck critiques, it seems that a good way to encourage conversation is to make it easier to outline feedback/Card suggestions. Possibly giving the ability to link cards and card images in the commentsI'm still unsure of how these would be done but these are just a few things.
Yes, I thought the same about the tags. Actually I already prepared a text to suggest this as soon as the Forum works again (which was promised would work work "soon" - well, this was months ago ...)
It's probably a financial thing more than anything, but there seems to be options out there as far as crowd funding goes.
Also, is there a way to search for several tags at once? It seems you can only put one tag into the search engine.
TappedOut has advertisements for random decks. Maybe we could get that going. There should be a few new things added, that would help the community. Maybe if you could playtest two decks against each other? This might not help the community but there should also be better search functions...
First of all, thanks for the feedback.I hate the hot page. We built it with good intentions, but it just hasn't worked. I want to change the main homepage tabs to be the major formats, then underneath each of these we could filter by hot/new/unloved as well as filter by user tags. Do you think that could work?A big issue we had in the past with letting users select the format of a deck is that you end up with decks marked "Standard" that have rotated out. We are trying something in the background at the moment to auto-tag decks with a format. It could be as simple as untagging "Standard" decks when cards rotate.I like the idea of giving users recognition, we tried to do this with comment upvoting and user reputation, but I don't think this really worked. maybe the addition of aschievements/badges would help that would be displayed against your username in all comments to make to show how much of a badass you are?I love the idea of forcing decks to be tagged with certain key information such as casual/competative/1v1/multiplayer etc. I will look into this.Cheers!
Gonna point out most standard decks are modern legal, and those are normally legacy legal as well, so there should be something to prevent them showing up in the eternal formats
I don't know how well it will work, if at all, but I started a new deck for the community to build together. Thought it might be a neat way to get some conversation going. I will put the link below. Just head on over and post a card to be added. My idea is to make it an EDH deck to allow the largest amount of cards.http://www.mtgvault.com/llchurch/decks/community-edh/
Personally, I check the new decks every day and will always comment on any deck that is tagged as multiplayer and give it a free like whether I ultimately like it or not. I feel most comfortable and have the most experience in this arena so that where I focus my comments. The problem is most multiplayer nowadays is EDH which I have absolutely no clue about. But again, I won't even click on a deck that doesn't have a tag. Moreover, I won't bother to comment if once I have there is no description/how to play section. (unless it was a multiplayer non EDH deck that is). My advice is find a few people who plays decks like you. Comment on theirs and ask for advice on yours. In my case Puschkin makes decks that fit my playgroup and is able to give me advice. I know I can do the same for people who tag their decks multiplayer. Prime example is my vampire deck. Never made the hot page, but I was able to get some great advice and tweak it and have some options. http://www.mtgvault.com/biggeorge76/decks/the-children-of-the-night/
They should add a Commander section for deck building, so you don't have to place your commander in the Sideboard to show it. Maybe add a toggle for normal 60 decks and EDH decks.
this.... just this!
bump to save the vault community :)
Thanks for the feedback on my deck! ultimately it is things like this that turn casual lurkers like myself into involved members, which is what sites like this need.
If I may suggest posting "decks" named after formats or general topics and then the community post THEIR decks into the discussion. This way we could make little collections and would also make the acces to decks easier alswell as generate more likes and feedback...DonĀ“t know if thats a good idea but certainly wort a try.
Too many decks. Those lists would be confusing and cluttered in no time.
Then maybe with a litmit about 10 or so? If we would use this a a menas of "restarting" the community everbody would respect the limits I guess?
It would be better to have a "deck" for each format and then, instead of decks, it lists PLAYERS that are active in this format. I did that already on a private level here and it worked (for a while at least).
The first thing to do is close the "hot" page and only look there like once a weekThen open the new page and get going. Also check out Mekkakat! http://www.mtgvault.com/mekkakat/He's pumping out an interesting idea after an interesting idea.
I've now been adding the term 'Advice?' into my name line. I was thinking, if we start putting it as a Tag on decks, then we can find people who are looking for discussion on how to improve their ideas, as well as just liking decks we enjoy the build of. Any thoughts?
You can just put the tag "help" into your deck instead of putting it into the title. Makes it seem a little more confident in your own work too.
Ok, so let's add help into tag lines for idea stimulation.Already done on a few of my decks.
I usually do "needs work"
I started a little something:http://www.mtgvault.com/puschkin/decks/mtgvault-the-gathering/If you want to revive the site, take action and join!
Also check out the site I linked on this deck/forum I recommend to anyone who wants to test decks they build on this deck against real players without proxy.
This is great stuff. I'm thankful for all of you contributors! I'm sure to find some great new ideas moving forward.
No one has looked at my stuff though.
Ditto. I'm putting decks up with help tag too.
Furyoftheboros, maybe it is because most of your decks don't even have tags?
You're awesome, I like you. Keep up the good work man! :)
Gary are you the creator of this site? Cause from Puschkin a few comments down you seem to be important.
Yes, Gary and I are THE CREATORS. That sounds awesome :P
Definitely awesome.
Haha, check out Ian bigging himself up. :D
Forums are back
That's great. I guess the moderators have been reading these. We won't need decks like this anymore
Gary red these.
who is gary? and thats amazing! yay forums!
Gary is just one of the creators of this site.
Hi, I don't get as much spare time as I would like to work on the site, but I am still here and I am listening!
Maybe we could set up Community Game Nights and Testing Nights so people can play and test decks with others wanting to do the same. We could use the site Untap.in or a program like Cockatrice.
Sounds like a really good idea!
Cockatrice has been taken down by WotC.
It's back up as far as I can tell.
No:http://www.cockatrice.de/

@TheKinginYellow you... I like you...Organize it !!!!
@mrgop1 I go to school and have a full time job. I don't really have time to organize something like this.
Shit... same for me ;(
Love this site/forum. It has helped me develope and improve on the way I play & build decks. Having a complete breakdown by the numbers is a huge help, along with sample draws. A much easier way than trying to play a deck solo. Would like to see the Vault thrive again, at the very least, to help out new players and builders. I just have a couple of suggestions for the site......1) More than 4 "Tags" on a deck2) Clicking "Not Legal in..." link marks each card in the main deck3) Facebook/Twitter log in and share optionsThanks and keep up the good work!
There was an idea to have a few specific tags, such as legality; player number; etc.,
Like that idea. More tags = More chances to be seen.
I love this site. It's really helpful when I build my commander decks, and I love getting feedbacks on my decks.
that is really nice to hear. And im sure many commander players will give feedback. sadly i am in the middle about commander, i like it, have played it just never found a deck i liked.
^^ The comments and feedback on this site has gone down. Commander or not. I almost never get feedback any more, sadly. But I keep using the site
I have two forums going that fit here. One is a forum where you can just post obscure tribal decks and advertise on them as long as you check out other peoples decks, while the other is a thing I'm trying to start up. Also try to check the forums pretty regularly, since there aren't notifications for them yet. I think they're working on them though.www.mtgvault.com/forum/thread.aspx?ftid=9880www.mtgvault.com/forum/thread.aspx?ftid=9908
http://www.mtgvault.com/vaan104/decks/legacy-staples/my stab at getting the vault moving again i hope to get some talk going
Just go check out this guy: http://www.mtgvault.com/mekkakat/K?Like, the creativity and the amount of different decks he's made, WOW!
