First off, credit due:This deck is a tweaked version of this one: http://www.mtgvault.com/stonecolddestroyer/decks/the-end-of-the-world/Second, the mana combo in this deck is not my own, but that of a friends.Next on the chopping block: this deck is not perfect! I'm not great at making decks, but I am improving. I'll be blunt and say I'm stubborn and may not change cards if suggested, but I am always up for discussion on ideas!Basic concept: ramp mana like a nutter, throw it on a hydra, punch your opponent in the face (with the hydra. Don't actually punch players, I'm sure that's against tournament rules)Obviously, the combo (refer to "how to play") can can be stopped pretty easily once someone knows whats going on by killing off the Axebane. I do plan to fix this issue, but in the mean time, just remember mana abilities (like that on Axebane) do not use the stack, and therefore, can not be targeted. So at the very least, you can get some mana out before he's killed.
Drop some defenders (any will do) then get out an Axebane Guardian. Once you have him out, enchant him with Freed from the Real.Assuming you have two defenders (say Fog Bank and Axebane Guardian) and that Freed from the Real attached to the Axebane, let the fun times roll. Due to shortcuts being legal, that is exactly what you want to do next. Explain the following to your opponent:The Axebane taps for two mana (as you have two defenders) keeping one blue, and the other green. (two mana in your pool)Use that one blue to untap the Axebane (one mana in your pool)Tap Axebane for two more mana: (three mana in the pool)Spend one mana to untap Axebane (two mana in the pool)Tap Axebane (four mana in the pool)etc, etc. With that combo set, you can basically say "I produce one billion mana." Why a billion? Well...why not? With that billion mana, just start dropping any hydras you have in your hand. Drop them as 1,000/1,000 creatures just for kicks. Some hydras have haste, but no trample: so you can swing once they drop, but they may get chump blocked. Others have trample, but no haste, so you'll have to wait a turn to do them in.

This deck looks like fun. But I would focus on the combo more. for example, get rid of kalonian and progenitus as they don't have an x in their mana cost. I would get rid of the door as well, with it and progenitus, the deck is almost mono green so why make it a 5 color deck to run 2 cards?I would focus on green, blue and black. Obviously green for your hydras. Blue for your fog bank and Freed from the reel. but I would add black to run read the bones, sign in blood and phyrixian arena for card draw. maybe even some diabolic tudors to insure you can get the cards needed to set the combo off. I can't think of any off hand but try finding another infinite mana combo and try running it as well to add more chances of landing the billion headed hydra. =)Maybe run some sylvan caryatids as they are defenders and can tap for a mana of any color to insure the deck doesn't stall out.As for insuring the hydras come through and deal the damage needed, maybe some rogues passage. I love hydra decks and mine is one of my favorites. feel free to check it out. http://www.mtgvault.com/xreverie8/decks/hydras/As you said above, you may not take my advice. But I hope this helps.

First off want to say, I do appreciate the advice! I'm stubborn (as stated) so..yeah..Anyways, I have actually played tested this now, and I've noticed a few things you have already stated. The suggested drop cards: Kaonian I was thinking of dropping, but Progenitus will get sideboarded if anything. Although he'd be jealous of the billion headed hydra, he is handy as he pops back to my hand if killed somehow. The door may also get sideboarded, just because I'm cruel person and love seeing it go off (though, granted, in the life of using that card, It's only gone off twice...)Second, I do need a draw mechanic! I did think of the Diabolic Tutor, but I've personal had issue running tri colored deck (ironic to say, due to the presence of the door...). I did think of Serum vision though for a draw mech, though with someone else thinking of the tutor, I may give that a shot.As for the Sylvan, awesome card! But I will have to pass on that, as the combo relies on the Axebane and Freed from F'real. Mana for getting out the combo is [surprisingly] easy to get. The issue is getting said combo going, which we just covered in the second paragraph! Rouge Passage...how did I miss this card!? I have two already, and with their price, I am going to have to lock into getting a full playset.
try howling mine or font of mythos if you need more cards? could easily drop a hydra or two to fit some incould also slap in some aqueous form. scry + it makes your hydras unblockable for just one blue. also gives you more cards to use that blue mana on.
I like the idea of Howling Mine and Font of Mythos, but at the same time, I play modern with people who also enjoy their combos. So I would want to stick with something that only gives me the ability to draw more. As for the Aqueous form, that is a handy card, and it did cross my mind. But I'm still not sold on it as I mainly need draw cards. If I'm able to us Aqueous form, by that time I already have my combo, so I would only use it for unblockable. And with how it this deck plays, waiting one more turn to kill is not a huge issue.
