Deck Description

A competitive midrange deck that has answers to most of the problems in magic.

Control the field long enough to either swarm with bitterblossom, clear the field and hit with the beasts, or equip something and swing away.

Sacrifice life early to gain control and then gain it back to buy some insurance with the beasts. Also helps keep bitterblossom in check if it goes late game.

I'm sure the following choice will take criticism, so ill explain it now.

Viridian emissary- I am in love with this little guy. turn 2 drop that gives you either early game damage to apply pressure, lets you trade off for opponent's early game damage drop, or lets you chump block to buy you a turn and basically no matter what it generates card advantage. Plus it thins the deck of lands. With 4 of them and 6 fetch lands, after turn 8 or so you won't be drawing many lands and will have an extremely thick middle and endgame.

Also, if you drop it turn 2 and opponent dispatches it to swing for quick damage, you search for your third land then turn 3 drop your 4th and drop the baloth and you are in great position.

And it fixes mana problems which are always possible in a tri-color deck in modern.

The deck performs well against most matchups on its own as it dismantles the field and has some hand control as well, but the sideboard options really let it handle anything.

Against combo decks- Side in slaughter games to extract the essential piece. If they are using an infinite combo deck or a ramp combo or anything that takes 3 or more cards in a turn, mindbreak trap comes in end ends them, plus it gets around can't be countered stuff like banefire.

Against fast aggro decks- 4 pyroclasms takes out their first wave and its all over from there.

Consuming vapors gets around hexproof creatures, indestructible creatures, and protection creatures, plus it generates card advantage and can replenish life from bitterblossom.

Nihil spellbomb removes dredge effects and generates cards advantage.

The rest of the sideboard deals with common problems or pesky positions and can easily be sided in to take the place of a moot main deck piece.
